When should I switch to 12/12?

I have been growing my wee plants for about 3 weeks now (I am really forgetful so not sure on the exact time :stoned: ) and I am wondering when I should change them into flowering.

They grew for about 2ish weeks on my window sill in the sunshine while I got everything set up and they have now moved into my little grow box in my cupboard. They are still very small, most likely because of the less intensive growing on the window sill but they are starting to develop their little flowers and getting a smell. Is this them asking me to turn it to 12/12? I want to try keeping them small anyway so I am not too bothered about waiting for them to get huge.

Also, their leaves seem a little thin and papery, is this normal or it is a sign that they are a little dry? I have never examined a cannabis plants leaves before so not sure what to expect haha

I'm no expert, but a lot depends on the size of your growing space. if it's small, you switch early. I have plenty of room and veg for 6-8 weeks. some say after they are 10" tall, but this gets confused if you're LST-ing the plant.

with the Sea Of Green method, you grow only small plants, switching to 12 hours or less of light when they are as short as 6".

basically, it's up to you and the size your grow space can accommodate.
