What Is It About The Rockwool?
Hey Everyone,
This is my first post and my first attempt at growing and I went all out much to my detriment I think. I have a modest sized (4x5x2) grow room with the mylar walls and exhaust and hydroponic set up. I started my seeds 2 weeks ago and it seems my lil ones, though alive are kind od long in the stem. The seedlings sprouted out of rockwool about 7 days ago and I have one set of true leaves on each plant of various sizes. I have the light as low as my hand can tolerate with out killing them. The Cotyledons are folded under but green which I attributed to overwatering, and the edges of the true leaves are slight yellow. The stem is also really long and im afraid putting the light down lower will kill them. Basically, How often do you true profesionals water your rockwool cubes throughout the grow and when do you actually place them in the hydroponic pots for timed watering. Thank-you much in advance.:D

Hello bud
Your little ones need to have 2-4 established leaves before transplanting, once they have this you know that they have a well established root system. Keep your rockwool damp at all times but not sodden wet, if unsure lift pot upwards in afairly sharp motion to remove excess water. As for long stem when you plant them in main pots you can burry them up the stem a little to keep them shorter. Sounds like your doing fine. Keep them warm and youll be all good. Start half nutes when you transplant.
I am new to this myself and am exactly where you are, I use a areo propergator which works fine and keeps things at a good temp. I also have one with long stem but am fortunate that I have someone who is the bees knees to ask when it comes to not knowing things.
Best regards

Just from your brief description I would guess you got curl from low ph I go from cutting so don't have the stem problem,i also lst ,as for feed I hand water whilst in veg with a 1.2-4 ec then drip every 3 hours for 5 mins when I flick to flower, flower ec 1.5 until last 3 weeks of flower with 1.8-2.0 ec and a 5.5 ph Barnys blue cheese seems to work from this , if your growing in slabs cut along the bottom helps with drainage doing this for me works and stops from getting to wet good luck oh yeah with Rockwood you get nute build ups so flush between feed changes gd luck bud it's all trial and error till you find what suits you and your system matey
