In need of some FEEDBACK! Help a girl out??
Hi friends!
Recently have been 'observing' the grow cycle of 3 seeds that were planted 3 weeks ago from today..
Soil: Attachment 291128
Lighting: 12/12 (due to some location restrictions) iPower400 watt MH and good air circulation.
Here are the babies..
Attachment 291129
Attachment 291129
Attachment 291130
how do they look??
They are currently in doubled solo cups..
not sure of the strain or anything.. Not even sure if they are females.. But I figured it was worth a try.
I also heard once the starter leaves die off -which they are- to start fertilizing. Not sure how much to give, or when to give? They are 3 weeks old.
SUGGESTIONS please!!!!! Thank you ;)

12/12 will induce weak growth and flowering sooner than you want...unless they are autos. otherwise they need 18 on 6 off. no need for ferts for a while since the soil already has it. may never need to give them ferts til the near the end just before flush if at all. they look fine so far and they dont know if they are females yet either they wont know until it gets closer to flowering time.

I hope the soil is more than the peat moss. Yes?

Not bad. You might consider that when time to transplant, to put them into potting soil. 5 gallon buckets each full of soil. You could probably continue with just the sphagnum, but you'd have to use fertilizer. Be careful how much you use. Make sure it has trace elements like boron, sulphur, etc. Miracle Grow fert has this stuff but the NPK seems to be too much for this kind of plant. I usually recommend Dynagro and I'm sure people here are tired of hearing it. But it works good for soil grows. Just follow the direction on the back. There are small 8 or 9 ounce bottles available out there. Schultz brand seems to be good too. There are almost too many ferts to choose from. You'll have to decide what to do.

I figured with the light times :( location will be changing in about 3 wks.. Think they can wait till then without being stunted ??
& so far yes for that being the only soil I use .. I would love to hear about some good mixtures to use before I transplant them :D
Thanks for the advice guys, your the best!

Three weeks, they will but on some size, if you treat them right and are patient. Going to need more than cups, transplant at least as soon as roots are emerging from holes in bottom of cup. Might also work your way up to the five fall bucket in stages.

5 gallon buckets will be great. Soil I have found differs with growers. Personally use 1 part Canadian peat, 1 part cow manure & 1 part Perlite with a little vermiculite for extra added drainage but can amend to your needs! Shovel may be able to help with that. When you say location are you implying an inside/outdoor thingy? Sounds cool bro! Peace be upon you.

Yeah I plan on putting them into a big planter, then after that permantely into 5gal planters.. They will be strictly indoor; I was starting them off for a friend who will permantely house them once she gets back into town (which is in about 2 1/2 weeks or so) .. There, they can keep the lighting 18/6; instead if 12/12 by my place.
Another Q: how far should the light be from the babies? Right now their about a foot and a half from the leaves.. Seems like they are loving it? Their starting to get more and more sets of leaves by the day...
Thanks again loves!! :hippy:

a foot and a half unless plants show stress, then more.
You mean the sun, right?
