Insect or over nutrient? First timer

I have a four month old Fucking Incredible mother. PH is 7 measured with a digital meter, I have been using bottled drinking water for past three months]. Due to beginner ignorance it is in a five gallon pot of Miracle Grow. Question 1: Is this an insect? If so can you tell me what kind and what to do about it?

I have since starting been told Miracle Grow will add a bad favor to smoke. Question 2: If I grow my clones in non-Miracle Grow soil will taste linger?

Since you are using bottle water its best to mix in a little calmag. That should fix your problem.

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)

Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. (MH, HPS, CFL's, tube fluorescents, LED's) One 400 watt Metal Halide 18' above. 16 T5 54 watt florecense. four on each wall.

.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings? germinated seeds

Your nutrients and water:
10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) What's it's ph before adjusting? Bottled water, sometimes drinking sometimes distilled. 7 out of battle
11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...) digital meter
12) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...) hydrated lime
13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. added some nitrogen couple weeks ago, no other nutrients added

I've never used miracle grow soil, but mostly I hear bad things about it. Some people have success, but I've seen these same people say they have to flush the heck out of it to get to work right. Miracle Grow ferts are hot stuff. The good news is that they come a lot of micro nutes that plants need, but the NPK is too much. I think under this same brand, the company makes an organic soil and/or fert which probably has lower NPK amounts. I guess even MG makers had to realize the value of organic gardening. Why they make their ferts so hot, I don't know, but I'm guessing that the same thing can be said about their standard potting soil (not the organic stuff). Some people end up learning the hard way as it is so easy to buy a product that is not in your best interest. Making money is a primary concern for any company. They use the name "miracle grow" and people think it's the shit to use, until you fry your plants with it. I say all this because it looks like the soil is the problem. The only solution would be to transplant into another soil, one that doesn't come loaded with ferts. Black Gold perhaps, or maybe even a seedling soil. don't knock off too much soil pulling them out, but you might consider putting them into different soil and see what happens. I don't focus on pH much because it is a symptom rather than a problem. If pH is off too much, it's trying to tell you that something else is wrong in the grow medium. A pH of 7 of water going in, and 6.4 coming out seems to be quite a jump downward. You might have a soil pH that is even lower, too low for a soil grow, which in turn probably means too much fertilizer. I don't think you can go wrong with a transplant into a more neutral soil now. Flushing really isn't a good answer because you keep the soil wet all the time and it needs to dry out between waterings. This is another good example why it's so important to do a little research, not a lot necessarily, but enough to know what you're doing. A lot of people use foxfarm soil without much trouble. I never see anyone coming here and complain about it (unless they've done something drastic to change the soil). You want to read the package of soil and compare its contents with that of other soils. Same thing with fertilizers. Also, do some reading about what nutrients are needed and in what amounts, in other words, how much fert is too much and what is just right. Foxfarm seems to make their products specifically for the indoor grow industry, as do others as people are jumping on the money wagon. Some ferts stay, some disappear if they don't sell. Worm castings will provide nitrogen to an already nitrogen hot soil. Probably not the best thing. If you're already using the organic soil, then maybe what you have there is a micro nute deficiency. but the brown tip tends to indicate too much nitrogen. Sorry about this book.

Thanks polishpollack. I will transplant to eight gallon pots and use Black gold. Like I said the Miracle Grow five gallon pot has several thousand Red Wiggler worms in there. Can they be producing too much Nitrogen?

I wouldn't worry about the worms. Worry about the MG soil.
