Just wonering if anyone knows of any effect rain has on buds in any way on outdoor growing? Any damage, potency, related issues etc.

Always like a little rain to fall, but not to much and not right now.
Rain on flowering plants can destroy the whole crop with powdery mildew and mold both are toxic if consumed. You can use light weight plastic like painters use to cover the plants until the rain stops, make room for air between the plant and plastic for air circulation because the plastic will collect condensation. You can use bamboo with a plastic bottle on the tip to hold the plastic off the plants, plastic pipe will work as well. Mildew spores are in the soil so make sure that rain splatter doesn't splash up on you plants. Best to grow short flowering strains if rains come early where you are.Quote:

Here in Vermont, USA I never covered outdoors for rain, just frost. Hail and wind damage yes, rain damage, no. Frost damage, not yet.
