Medicinal Marijuana Strains - List in Progress
Weezard asked me to start this thread and list some of my experiences with different strains, their medicinal effects, and side effects. This is not a complete list, and I ask that you add your medicinal experiences and side effects on certain strains as well. I won't list my ailments for personal reasons, I will let you know that I have a short fuse, so I mainly focus on that - I also get explosive migraines, and typically keep a few grams of different strains just to treat specific ailments. You might have tylenol in your cabinet, I have pineapple express in mine :D
Here are my current strains and what I use them for:
Durban Poison - Migraine Relief & Stomach Issues, side effects are a very conscious buzz that isn't much of a couch lock (unless its over flowered)
White Widow - Pain Relief & Appetite Inducer, side effects are a lazy feeling, limp, and relaxed - This is also good for muscle pain.
Pineapple Express - Antidepressant & Mood Stabilizer, this is my main strain for some of the conditions I suffer from, the side effects are an energetic and elevated buzz, I've also noticed that this induces motivation as well as 'higher plane' thinking. This is great for people with 'asshole syndrome' or people who don't want to be stuck on the couch.
Bubblicious - migraine relief & appetite inducer - This is a good strain when you have company over for good times.
Super Skunk - Pain Relief & Antidepressant - This is GREAT for after a long days work when you just need to unwind and relax - Chill out on the couch and watch family guy.
PowerBud - General Treatment - The strain genetics are good for a multitude of symptoms, side effects are increased appetite (munchies like hell), mild muscle relaxer with a tingly feeling at first, and sever couch lock if taken in excess. Very good yields per plant.
Super Lemon Haze - Close to pineapple express in effects, very smooth taste, great sativa yields, this does have a longer flowering time (up to 14 weeks) and has a very heady effect, ever feel like your superman? If not, this will get you there.
Khali Mist - General Treatment, Khali can be used either for THC or CBD depending on who or what its grown for, and its effects can be great on everything from nausea to sleep disorders.
Grand Daddy Purple - Insomnia, Nausea, Mild Pain - This strain while uplifting, sucks the energy right out of you. When used heavily this strain will give morphine type effects, an overdose can actually induce nausea. This is a good strain to use an hour or two before bed.
I'm currently working on my own strains - However they won't be ready for many generations.

I'd have to say that they each have their own level of WOW - I've grown every strain listed except for the khali mist (germinating my own now), the most psychedelically active to me would be the pineapple express, when harvested and cured properly, its... simply amazing. There isn't a bad smoke or buzz on that list though - If you like the 'weed flavor' I'd have to say that super skunk has a great aroma and nice bag appeal, and its strong, but not knock you on your ass for two days strong. For that, white widow or grand daddy purple.
Really it depends on what your looking for, I personally prefer the heady buzz with some psychedelic effects, I'm a huge fan of the giggles. None of these strains are super giggly though, Laughing Buddha is a good one, but I don't know the medicinal qualities, which is why that strain isn't listed.

Cotton Candy; tried it, don't like it. Not even a low body buzz. :rasta: No heady or body high, at all. Very low grade medicine. I received it in Los Angeles. I would not waste any money on it, unless, this particular one is from a less than medicinal grower. Not all Collectives are remotely alike.

Earlier versions of DinaFem's Haze Auto were met with mixed reviews. The breeders made many improvements to the strain including stability, better aroma/flavors and such, but many are disappointed that it lacks the "heady Sativa-ness" of photoperiod Haze strains.
This seed was purchased mid-2012 so, I'm fairly certain it is a good representation of the current strain. DinaFem has since released a "Haze Auto 2.0" which is being marketed as a separate strain.

Haze Auto (v1)[/align]
On a scale of 0 (poor) - 5 (exceptional)
Effects: 3 recreational, 4.5 medical
After an initial hit or two, the body/muscles releases tensions and can fall into a nicely relaxed state within a few minutes. Helps with muscle and nerve pain.
Even for a newer patient, I recommend a 2 toke minimum, the effects are mostly body, though a little headiness can creep in with repeated doses, it isnā??t too overpowering.
High/Effect Duration: 2.75
It isnā??t a long laster, half hour tops and you feel the warm fuzziness begin to slip away, so if sleep is required, Iā??d mix in a good Indica to help prolong the relaxation, or if you're needing to stay motivated, mix a little early harvested Jack Herer.
Other notes...
Plant Growth: 4
Good growth, would like to get a little more size but that may or may not be strain specific, as I think in DWC/hydro these would excel.
Also - Plant scent & smell was minimal until very late bloom, making this strain a good stealth candidate.
Scent/Aroma: 4
Some people have stated issue with the unique scent, I have a hard time describing the aroma (which I personally like) but ā??lemon-lime/pineā? is a good descriptor.
The Smoking Experience: 3.25
Good body, with neutral to a lightly aromatic finish. Not connoisseur flavors, but darn good.

True. Most dispensaries in L.A. area will chop the price for older/dryer weed. Less than $10 a g is pretty weak stuff and maybe you should make bubble hash out of it. Good Luck.
Amsterdam mart in north hwood sells quarter pounds of shake for $70. I made bubble hash out of it and sold it back to the dispensary for profit. Good times :)
