My very first home-made grow-box with the aid of an engineering friend.

I have always had the desire to grow some marijuana, beauty plant, beautiful aroma - everything about it is just wondering. This comes from someone who doesn't even smoke on a daily basis. I still LOVE IT! Anyways. Now to my grow-box. I've had quite few plans for it which I will be giving to my engineering buddy to design the box. So I made a sketch of it a little bit. I'm writing here to get help, or to see if there is any flaws to my box construction before I actually make it. Keep in mind I am a student so low costs are in my best interest for the time being. The box should be big enough to accomodate 2 plants.

Box Dimension

height: 30-33 inches (approximately)
width: 30-33 inches (approximately)

Fans:
2x 80mm air intake (computer fans)
2x 80mm exhaust (computer fans)
1x 80mm internal air mover. (computer fan)

Lights
Still in the process of analysis. thinking CFLs. Not sure on the strength or size or amount yet.

Aesthetics
The walls will be painted white.


So allow me to explain my diagrams a little bit. The box is clearly the box. It will open at the top. The light will be on one side. So I will need to rotate the plants everyday. the fans are on the extremities of the box. (I didn't diagram the internal fan yet) That fan will be on the side of the intake fans to push the air toward the exhaust.

What you see on the left is the door binding. Where there will be a rubber-type product to seal off the light for my sanity (as it will be in my bedroom) The fans will also be sealed off this way.

A few things I'm worried about:

- is this too little fans for the size of the box?
- is the box big enough to have 2 relatively small plants?
- What can be done to improve the overall functionality of this box?
