Cloning question
[attachment=o286277][attachment=o286278]I have started some clones in a oxyclone 20 site using well water and one quarter teaspoon of Superthrive. After 3 days they have developed a film in the stem that is sitting in the water. Is this a normal condition. My leaves are also starting to yellow. If not what can I do correct the problem.

Cloning question
Dont clone with superthrive.
Get clonex solution and add it to the water.
That is the superthrive clinging to the stem and choking it to death.

Cloning question
So for now the best thing I can do is spray them off and change the water, thill I can get some clonex?

Cloning question
Change the water and gently wash off the film. Cuttings should root even without additional rooting hormone, the hormone is mostly just to help out a little, esp in a cloner.

Cloning question
Do what Leo said. Don't use the well water untill you know what is in it. Go get some distilled or R/O water to use.
and what you got there is starting root rot but it is cyano-bacteria most likely from your well water. hell you can get it in public water systems.
I would clean it all up real good and start with neew ones if I could.
if you see this again run to the pet store and get E.M. ERYTHOMYCIN ANTI-BACTERIAL FISH MEDICATION. mix it as it says for the amount of water.. you could do this now if you have no choices.

Cloning question
Just a follow up I cleaned the plants and the system out. Changed the water to distilled. Bought the clonex but have not used it.
The stems are still clean after a few days
Thanks

Cloning question
As much as I hate to say it, distilled and RO aren't the best for cloning. Unless your tap water is crap, it's probably your best bet. It isn't as "clean" and the traces in it seem to help. Go ahead and dip the ends in the clonex.

Cloning question
My tap water is "well water" is that ok to use. Do I need to have a clean cut on the stem before I dip them in Clonex?

Cloning question
As long as it's okay to drink, it's probably fine. Don't cut them as you don't want to cut off anything that's started. Just pour a little clonex in something and dip the ends. You want to get them straightened away so you can leave them alone.

Cloning question
how much poisin is too much ? I know what you say about trace elements and all but he had bown slime or cyano-bacteria.
if no signs of return it sounds good. if you tried your water and it works like my bro's then good use it. But otherwise how do you know whatis in it ?
That's why I learned the hard way to start clean and add the good stuff back . like some Olivia's cloning solution or clonex solution. you can even addsome of the clonex gell to the water to help.
I add to 5 gallon cloner. 6ml of boost and grow from technaflora and a bit of root 66.
However it works well with just R/O water. what I have found as far as cloning is that everyone must keep trying till you find your sweet spot. don't give up cause I have seen some wierd shit that works.
