new to growing, could use some advice.
Ok i am new as it seems everyone is at one point or another i had a few questions i would like answered, i searched a little bit but i was looking for more direct answers than what i have found, so here it goes.
1. Is there a fertilizer that can be used in Veg and flowering stages, or are there ones that work better for each?
2. How often should i add nutrients/fertilizer? do i just mix it in with my main water source and add everytime i water? or should i just add 2-3 times a week.
3. I have a strong healthy mother that is getting bigger every day, but a few of the leaves on the bottom and some around the middle the tips are turning yellow and brown, but the plant continues to grow new healthy leaves everyday. What can i do to fix this.
Im using foxfarm soil if that will have any bearing on what fertilizer/nutrients i should use in veg and flowering. I am going to begin cloning in the next week just want to make sure my mother is 100% healthy by then,
Thank you in advance for all your help, everyone on this site seems very friendly and helpful. i plan on making a grow log along the way to document my process.

Yellowing leaves under the canopy is natural. As they get less light, they droop and lose colour.
If they start turning brown, use your own judgement to decide whether to yank 'em.
Nutes- 2-3 times a week is too much. I'm hydroponic, and I add the nutes only after I've cleaned out my rig.
The nutes stay in the system, all you have to do is keep the water level up. And every 2ish weeks (or 3 or 4) clean out the rez and start fresh.
There's a crap ton of nutes out there- all you need is a veg; a bloom; and a micro. On top of that, I picked up rhizotonic for the roots, dynagrow protekt for heartyness, and cali/mag
because I use distilled water.
Good luck, brah. Don't be afraid of mistakes

1. Read a book on growing. you can flower with grow and grow with flower Nutes.
2. Every watering until flush.
3. water your mother with plain water the week before you make cuttings, they will root faster. Yellow and brown tips are PH issues most likely.

Get the fox farm trio and follow the schedule. But use common sense. Remember to give them a monthly flush as well. And it's ok to skip a feeding for just water. Better to under feed than go too heavy.

About the leaves, that makes sense that they are from not getting enough light because the ones that are turning yellow are under heavy cover. Also could u recommend a book on growing? something easier to read preferable tolike a textbook style book. And Im using the fox farm soil, would i be able to get the trio at the same place?

I found "Growing Elite Marijuana" by Ryan Riley very informative.
Can download it for free if you look hard enough

If you are using FF Ocean forrest soil, I wouldnt even bother using veg nutes as long as you do a regular transplant. That soil is great the way it is. Especially being new to growing, most of the time less is better. I personally go from solo cups, to 1 gal, and finish in 3 gal. I dont start adding nutes til about the 3rd week in flowering. You cant really get too much easier than that.
If they sell FF soil, chances are that they will have the trio also. Good luck

Yes im using the ocean forest soil, is it not acceptable to just start in 3 gallon pots after my clones root? I didnt want to stress the plants out by multiple transplants. Thanks for the suggestion on the book i am going to chekc that out and i did grab the trio from my local hydro store.

I will always recommend the transplants. Over watering is an issue with placing a little plant in a big pot among some others. Read some of the grow logs on here and you will see why I recommend it. If you introduce new soil throughout the grow, it usually means the less nutes you have to add. The less you have to add the better in my book. Once you start adding a bunch of nutes instead of transplanting, you start getting buildups that cause issues. Sure you can flush and start over but by the time you do all of that, wouldnt it have just been easier and cheaper to transplant every 6 to 8 weeks? Ive been pretty rough at transplanting at times and never have had any problems. Now dont get me wrong, Ive seen people go straight into a big pot with excellent results. What might work great for me might not be your thing. To each their own. I was just explaining why i work my way up to the 3 gal. Good Luck

Thanks, Everyone has been really helpful so far. Im going to look into transplanting a few times so i dont run into any problems. Im gona make a grow log as well so i can document my experience as a first timer.
