Where can I legally Grow?

Hey fellow cannabis lovers.
I have been on many forums, and am having a hard time finding two things.
1. Is the review on growing products. It seems to be hard to find people who grow, and like to leave feedback on their growing equipment. (go figure paranoid androids. xD)
2. The question of, Where can I grow?
I understand I can grow on the premise of where I am living, but what about property I owe, or my family owes. By California Law, Am I allowed to grow on others property if they have given me permission. I would do it on the place I'm about to move into, but a family member has co-signed, and she has a federal job and can't have anything even slightly criminal on her record. I have another family member who will let me grow on their property.
I've gone through the forum and can't seem to find a helpful answer.

Any constructive comments?

Not sure what state your in but here in michigan, you can grow anywhere legally if you got your card up to 12 plants, you don't have to ask permission from the landlord or owner but he can deny you if he finds out, or he can deny you in the first place, and not much you can do about it, then there is local ordinances that could also make you in violation, I think as long as your legal and within your limits you can legally grow anywhere you live/rent/own without much risk.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in California. I understand I can grow on my premises, being as it's my place. But can I grow at another family members house if I'm not growing anything at my house?
