The good old LED's, Need some help please

We hope someone out there can shed some 'light' on this for us!

Ok so Dr.Payne and Dr.Shaggy has been chatting about some upgrades and this is where you guys/ladies come in.
We are using a 250watt cfl MaxiBrightcurrently and we have to say we recommend them highly.
We have been looking into LED's and are not willing to part with that amount of cash for something that's so undetermined, So here's the debate we have been shopping around on the web and have stumbled across these:

I could post them all but they are all the same and just range from 16.99 - 30+ We have looked at the Ufo's and deiced being a rectangle space the square will allow it all to fit nicely (OCD's for you)(Maximum Area Coverage.



We like the look of the led square, but with a bit of D.I.Y we can make the other options work


So please if anyone has used on of these(not one of the £100+) and we are not really too fussed (due to we don't plan to do a full LED grow...Yet, We plan on adding it to our current grow along with the CFL as the main light scource (top light) and mounting the leds for Side lighting (it may come to a full case paneled in LEDS if this is a viable option (mainly thinking of the Sqaures)) We can purchase 10mm LEDS and build our own...but it doesn't seem cost effective

Based on what I've researched so far, the cheap ones would be barely able to grow a leafy house plant let alone a flowering plant that requires a full sun type environment. Maybe and I emphasise maybe, you could use one to root cuttings or sustain a tiny mother plant in an environment where heat is a concern.
Honestly I think your money would be much better spent going towards another MaxiBright CFL. :cool:

You will pay for good LEDs. The only way around it is to build your own. I run 2x Wellthink 150w for veg. Very nice lights and good support from the company.

I'm looking at some LED lighting also, and I came across this company ProSource. I was looking at the Illuminator Jumbo UFO 180 and I was wondering if anyone had tried out these lighting equipment before?

after some even harder research it turns out they suck.....so we opted in the mean while for another CFL, While we wait for a few pieces to arrive to build our own LED! £28 - 50w led Chip that's a PURE white Giving of a kelvin rating of 6000k - 7000k.

Personally if you have the cash to splash then try a LED light, but from where we stand...we'd rather use cost effective solutions but still have a great outcome. E.g. build our own LED...(honestly its idiot proof)

We Will have pictures of our set-up in the next few days in our grow journal be sure to check it out!

Well..how about that cool white?Have been looking at the diff between this and Royal Blue.Cool White spectrum looks a lot like a MH...cool white lumen output is huge.
