what do you think about Autoflowering strains?

I hope i'm in the right section of the forum, if i'm not, sorry.
Has someone tested any autoflowering strain like lowrider? I am curious how much can a plant yeld in an outdoor grow. Or with less than 9 hours of sun.
Most of the growers of autoflowering say that they keep them on 24/7 light or at a minimum of 18hours per day. But that is for maximum yeld.
Is it worth spending money on the seeds knowing that i would get maby half of the max yeld? And is the smoke comparable to nonautoflowering strains?
