Purchased a new light with vortex 6" fan - Need a fan speed controller
That vortex jet engine is a monster, I've always used inline duct fan boosters. But I bought this new 600w HPS with some badass full spectrum hps bulbs with a yieldmaster 2 hood and a vortex 6" and ducting. Turns out I'm gonna need a fan controller because I don't want to wake up some morning midway through a flight to afghanistan in my own house. I never knew these fans were so loud/powerful.
Anyways, anyone recommend a decent/inexpensive fan speed controller?

Hi,
I am in the same boat. I just received an inline fan and it has no speed control. No way I want to run it at its present level.
I did some searching and remain highly uncertain as to what speed controller to get. So far, all with reviews include highly suspect ones (such as too hot or not enough real control or died within a few weeks) -or- have no reviews at all.
Anyone have any recommendations for an inline fan speed controller?
Tony

I've been using a "speedster" for several years, with no problems. Be advised that most of these controllers will induce a lower frequency "hum" due to the nature of their operation.
