How many of you new growers out there come up with at least one question per day?
I just wanna know how many new growers, or even experienced growers that simply don't have experience in a certain area, come up with at least one question per day that they'd like to ask to an all knowing cannabis growing individual? Not even so much a question about how to do something or what is wrong with your plant, but thinking up new ideas that you would like to run by someone who has the background to give you a more educated answer than you can come up with yourself? Or sometimes its simply nice to get another opinion on something so you have the confidence to step onto new ground as far as cannabis growing goes, because I know at least for me when I think of something that seems like a great idea... I'd still rather run that idea by someone else before I go ahead and do anything just so I don't overlook a potentially fatal mistake.
Lemme know what you think, or if you don't have anything like that to discuss daily, how often would you? Also I'm talking about discussion face to face, not forum postings which can take time especially when the responses you get require clarification.

In some of the states you can find growing classes for cannabis. You can gain a wealth of information there and also network to find someone knowledgable that you can call on the phone once in awhile.
This is a good site to ask questions on but you have to be sure to filter the answers a little. Usually the best tool for learning is to just try it and see how it works out. We've all made mistakes on growing and we learn from them. Stick to the basics until you've got a good grasp of what you're dealing with and how to recognize symptoms for upcoming problems.

What do you think of a combination of soil with a bubble bucket type set up under with two small areas where the soil goes down into the solution to wick. I was wondering if anyone has seen such a set up or used this method. I found these containers on the web The Garden Patch they do not mention aeration but it is necessary and easy to add an air-stone. The growth rate is absolutely amazing, the soil helps balance the ph, there is no chance of over watering. The root mass is huge filling the dirt and reservoir. I put two plants per container they hold four gallons of water and about the same maybe more soil. Please, let me know if anyone has used this or something like this. If so, I cannot understand why it would not be the rage and everyone using this method. I have tested this beside every method and nothing even come close.

Interesting, its kinda funny you mention that growing method because I messed around with that thought and kinda rigged up a home made one that I used for a little while but due to changing spaces and what not I decided to get rid of it and simplify before I ever really came to any conclusions on its usefulness. Basically being that I just threw it together with supplies at home it was bulky and just didn't fit with what I had going on at the time. You'll have to keep me posted on how that works.. I even intended to make a thread about it and thought I was onto something new and exciting haha.
Anyways.. Killerweed, I agree with you on that as far as needing to sort through information to find reliable answers and what not, as well as the idea that experimentation is the best way to learn. However, the reason I started this thread was because I noticed that there is a steady stream of new growers, with lots of questions. Even though many of the questions are essentially the same, everyone has a little bit different setup or some sort of different variable which makes them want to show pics and ask the questions specific to their own situation.
With that being said, my intention was to volunteer to help out a little bit further. I spend quite a bit of time researching online, typing out reports for my own grows, and whatever else here on my computer so I figured I might as well use my time here more efficiently and offer up a new way to ask questions and get answers about the basics of growing. As long as some people would use the chance, I was going to set up some sort of instant messaging account and release my contact info publicly on this forum. That way during the couple hours I spend at my computer each day people could message me and get direct, specific answers to their questions immediately, and easier due to the direct dialog. I'm far from being a pro grower but I know enough to help people start out and have successful grows. Maybe its unnecessary and wouldn't be used, but while I'm here I figured why not. I just wanted to figure out if there were people out there that would take that opportunity but I obviously wouldn't be offended in any way if nobody would use it. On top of that I personally enjoy discussing various methods/theories of growing, and I figured I could probably learn a good deal of information myself. Of course it is definitely great to have the forum as well to have the topics saved and available for everyone to see at any time.

Its nice to be able to talk to experienced growers face to face to bounce ideas off of them. But you also have to realize that just because someone has grown for a long time doesn't mean they understand all the variables when growing cannabis. Experimenting really is the best way to learn. Usually the best way is to take a portion of your grow and use it for experimentation.
There is an amaing amount of variance as to how to grow cannabis. What works for one person's system may not work for someone elses. Have grown strains that some just love and that I just hate.lol The different strains can have wide variances as to how they like to be grown. Have had some that I just can't seem to get right and others that just grow nice no matter what you do to them.

Right, I'm not talking about getting real specific, but there are some real basic concepts that just don't come naturally with common knowledge when starting out a grow. These basic concepts apply to all strains, even though they may vary some, its getting people going in the right direction so they can tinker and toy with their grow to perfect conditions. Some things that sound good when starting out, can be destructive to any and all strains, or vice versa. I would never give anyone any advice that I don't know to be true, and if I do I explain its still experimental for me and that they should only apply it if they're looking to experiment themselves. Also pointing someone in the right direction at least gives them the info they need to further research the issue for themselves instead of going blindly to the internet, which is a dangerous place, haha. I can't begin to describe the "interesting" theories I found when I was starting out.
