Normal for plant leaves to get frosted over during early veg?

Ok so I just typed this post out and then somehow deleted it all instead of posting it... so I'm going to try again. Anyways, I am growing a "top secret" new strain and just noticed today that the leaves are starting to get really frosty with sparkley little trichs, unless they're something else random... I've never seen this happen before but I also don't have experience with growing a wide variety of strains so I am not sure if this is normal or if I have something special here... hopefully something special. It is only a couple weeks into veg, just old enough that I topped it for the first time at the 4th node, so it has a ways to go before flowering even begins. Typically I don't see anything like this until I am a couple weeks into flowering, and even then the concentration of trichs isn't as much as this young plant until midway through flowering or so.

Any input from you experts out there would be greatly appreciated since if I have something unique here I will have to take extra care in keeping it safe, and preserving the genetics so I can document and learn all there is to know about this strain, and then share it with the world. Its an indica dom strain. Oh and it has an amazing/strong smell, which I also typically don't notice until they get a little bit larger. I'll give ya a little background on this strain, one of my best friends for a long time had been growing for years, and based on certain characteristics I liked in the finished product he began a breeding project. Didn't have anything to do with the actual plant in growth stage cuz I hadn't been growing at the time so I was only concerned with the end results. So anyways he had been working on it for about 3 years, perhaps a little longer and when he finally claimed he had a stable cross he gave me a branch with some seeds in it, and a good chunk of the bud, which was amazing in every way, except for his somewhat lazy trimming jobs which I usually finished up myself haha.

That was a couple years ago now, and due to the harsh times involved with this lifestyle, I will likely never see my friend again. March 9th, 2009 marks the date of his disappearance, and any efforts to get in contact with him have been abruptly halted. Its pretty painful to lose your best friend in this way, especially when he had so much potential, one of the best people I've ever had the privilage of sharing my time with. Anyways since then I had lost all of the seeds because I wasn't growing and didnt pay attention, now just recently since I've started to grow I got lucky and found out that another friend of mine still had some seeds that I had given him, so he gave them back to me to grow. Its a really good feeling to have these seeds back and be able to continue something that he worked so hard on, and you could say that time and effort was spent for me. This plant has some heavy sentimental value to me, and I know that if I could talk to him today his eyes would light up with joy at the idea that I am continuing his dream so to speak, since his time with this plant was cut short before he could really experience its full potential. So currently there is no name for it, we had planned to have a session and come up with something for it, but never made it that far. So once I finish this plant I'll have to think of something good in memory of someone who will always have an important place in my life. He taught me a lot about patience, and how to handle everything with care and respect, from the garden, to the rest of my life.

So anyways, I am very hopeful that this little girl will grow with quality characteristics that reflect those qualities of the breeder himself. Perhaps someday we'll be reunited and I will have something to make him proud.

Yes you have trichomes , along with factors indicative of a certain lineage perhaps.

What do you mean by that? Something specific in mind? Sadly I don't know what it is and will likely never get the opportunity to know. All I know is that someone who knows what they're doing was pretty proud of it. I don't even know exactly how breeding works, I've only read about it but never been a part of it. I have a rough idea on what it could be based on the varieties of plants he had been growing for a while, but its been a long time and I thought these seeds were lost for good so I hadn't thought about it too much for a couple years. Hopefully everything that can be seen from this plant so far is positive?

could also be hairs.. I think the small hairs are a sign of low light? and waxy is a sign of too much.. I can't remember though, luck!

Nah definitely not hairs, they're trichs. They follow the normal uniformed trichome patterns on leaves. Also in the last two days since I took those pictures they've developed much further. I was just curious if this was normal or if it is a certain trait of some cannabis strains... hopefully really good ones. I will continue to keep an eye on it and post more pictures if anything important develops. I just couldn't be happier that I was reunited with these seeds, if only I knew what its parents were like...

Correct they are *not* hairs they are trichs. There is very little way to tell for sure but your plant is exhibiting anomalies characteristic of certain versions of Chemdog , and unfortunately those versions at times carry TMV , it's way , way too soon to tell.

Stay clean when cloning those ,meanig if you're cloning another strain too be sure to wash your hands or change gloves and use a different dip station and cutting blade so as not to spread the virus.

Keep in mind that the twisted leaves *might not* be a clue and might be a result of a nutrional anomaly.

I'm confused on the twisted leaves... not sure if you're just saying that twisted leaves can POSSIBLY be a sign of TMV, or if you're implying that my plant has twisted leaves, because I don't believe it has anything that I'd consider to be twisted leaves, unless we have a different definition for that term. The only thing I can think of is that you're talking about the two young tops that are the feature of the pictures, and that one of the larger leaves on the top right side has a little bit of a twist to it. It has that twist because when I transplanted her the fan leaves stood up tall and proud, reaching for light, which pushed on that leaf and caused it to have to grow around it to fit in properly. Now that she's settled back down and some time has passed, that leaf is back to normal now with no twist. If you're talking about that then I guess we'd have an understanding, but if you're referencing something else that I am not picking up on please let me know so I know what to keep an eye on. I do however have another strain with some twisted leaves, but for that it was a nutrition/heat issue at the same time.

Also if its possible to be more specific on the chemdog strains that'd be great, I'm actually a pretty big chemdog fan but I've never grown it myself. Now that I think of it, chemdog would make sense as a part of the cross process, the breeder of this strain grew a version of chemdog and knew that I enjoyed it quite thoroughly, so if you've read the background info I wrote out you'd understand why that makes sense. I'm just curious to know anything I possibly can about this strain, I know its like asking you for an answer to a question that I never asked in the first place, but even a guess would help me link the pieces of info I know about it together to get closer to identifying its heritage.
