I am running 2-600watt SunPulse 3k in 2-8" air-cooled hoods. I have a 8" 720 cfm fan that I will be cooling the lights with. The room size is 10'x13'x7.5' and there are no windows, just a door. The air in the next room is a consistant 62 degrees.
My question is this: What is the most affective way to keep this room COOL with ventilation??? Smell is not an issue.
I've got a 6" blower going through a 1000w light venting to the outside through the wall via basically a dryer vent. I'm growing in a 4' x 8' closet. Works well for my setup. Keeps it nice and cool even in the summer. I'm sure others here will have some more in-depth info for ya...
Where does the intake of the air come from? Are you pulling air out of the closet with your setup, or does your ventilation just run through your light from one wall to the other? Thanks for the reply!!!!Quote:

Unfortunately I don't think there is much left here in the way of talent. Many left for warmer climates. Those still around don't have time to filter through all of the, "can I start nutes after 3 days" questions to get to those that are consequential. It's kind of sad. :(
Also, I'm not really sure we understand your question. Your fan should be plenty sufficient to cool both the room and the lights. Of course this depends on a number of factors like how long is the duct run, are there any 45 or 90 degree angles in the run, are you using a carbon filter, etc. If odor isn't an issue then no need for a carbon scrubber. Just suck the air from the room, through the lights and out. Pretty simple, no? See the link in my signature for an in depth exploration of fan sizing.
I agree w/ bigsby. You have plenty sufficent Airflow out of the room to keep everything cool. The main question here is: Where are you getting your "Fresh" air from? If you have no windows... then I would suggest running your Exhaust into the highest point, eg; ceiling if possible, of the next or current room, and fresh air from the lowest part. As we all know, heat rises. Keep the line "out" as straight as possible.

Thanks for the replies... I am running both hoods side-by-side. One side of each hood will be left open and the other side of each hood has about 2-feet of 8" duct run into a 8" y-connector. From the Y there is about a foot more duct that runs into my 8" blower. From the blower on the duct runs into the ceiling and in to the next room. The total run of duct is only 7'. The fresh air enters in from the door being left open. The room the fresh air comes from stays around 62 degrees at all times. I'm thinking my blower is plenty big enough to pull air from the next room through my lights. I also have two box fans in the room running at all times to keep air circulating.
