Vaporizer help?

Hey all, nice to see a community like this out there :)

I've been a dedicated glass pipe and/or bong user for five years now, and I finally broke down and invested in a vape (Viva la Vape Guerrilla), and I'm clearly doing something wrong. I've tried looking up tutorials, video guides, etc, but to no avail. Here is exactly what I'm doing:

1. Turn on the main device to start the heating process
2. Fill the removable chamber with the herbs
3a. Put the chamber in the main device, and let it heat for about ten minutes at 350 (as instructed by a friend)
3b. I've also tried putting it in and filling the bag immediately
4. Attach bag, turn on the air pump, and let it fill, maintaining a temp of somewhere between 350-370 as the bag fills

I'd get more of a response if I just smelled the herbs. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

Does that mean you don't get any visible vapor in the bag? If not, your temp is wrong or the vape is broke. If you get visible vapor in the bag and aren't getting anything from it, can't help you there. I get plenty high from vapor.

This model is one of the less expensive ones and and the display numbers can't be trusted, so setting it at 350 may actually be too low to produce vapor. Don't trust the numbers. If you don't get vapor production, turn it up 'til you do. If you really crank it up and get no vapor, I'd conclude that it's defective.

I had issues also when I got my Arizer Extreme Q Vaporizer,,took awhile to find the right temp,.,found this and it helped me a lot,,Now I'm getting the tatse of the herbs and a good high without burning the stuff or having to throw it away..please read the following,,it may help you out,,

What’s the Correct Vaporizer Temperature for Weed?


When you buy a vaporizer one of the first things you need to learn is what temperature you need to use. It can be almost like a black art if you’re guessing… or a science if you follow a few guidelines. This article will show you exactly what you need to know to set your temperature correctly every single time.

First thing you need to keep in mind is why the set temperature is so important. The entire reason for using a vaporizer is to reduce or eliminate the inhalation of some of the chemicals one would usually inhale when smoking.

Weed combusts at 446°F, and when you reach that level the smoke is full of all types of toxins and carcinogens. At lower levels the active ingredients can be stripped from the leaves, without activating the accompanying toxins.

The three major culprits we are trying to avoid are benzene, toluene and naphthalene. Benzene is a known carcinogen, while the other two have been known to cause heart, liver and brain conditions. Studies have found that these three toxins only begin to from at temperatures beyond 392° F. This is to say, as long as you keep your vaporizer below this level, the amount of toxins you’ll be inhaling will be drastically reduced.

So, what is the ideal setting? As in most things this is a personal preference, but trace levels of THC can be found at 284° F. Seeing that toxins start formulating at 392° F, most vaporizer users stick to temperatures of 365° F. This is well below the toxin ceiling, but high enough that suitable levels of THC and vapor make their way into the collection/inhalation device.

It’s worth noting that the density of vapor has no effect on the “highness” you are going to feel. Even less dense vapor (as you’re likely to get with lower vaporizer temps) has just as much THC as thicker vapor. Remember, trace levels of THC start entering the collection/inhalation device at temperatures as low as 284° F.

So, there you have it. A quick, “down and dirty” guide to figuring out the right temperature on your vaporizer. Hope you found it useful… now stop reading and go try it for yourself.

The problem with temp advice is that most vapes aren't accurate, and that's certainly the case with the OP's vape. And with the Extreme, the manufacturer has changed the heat sensor location several times, making the display temp vary from one version to the next, even though the temp is the same, internally. The best way to use any vape, temp wise, is to find the low and high end of the vapor range, for your particular draw speed, since that's a temp factor for most direct draw models.

just an idea,, get a laser pointer/thermometer... an instant read gun type. maybe thattl help.
