Start counting when you flip them to 12/12.

Thanks BUDDY lol that gives me less time til harvest then
I go from when I see the pistils. My plants are in week 8 of bloom right now. If I counted the time between switching the light and seeing the sexes then I would be in week 11 or so. And I still have maybe 2 weeks of flowering to go. BBxNL cross. All the trichomes are clear and just a little are cloudy.
As Im using LED I hear the bloom stage can be lengthened by a couple of weeks for some reason.
It can sometime take up to 2 weeks to see the plants sex. Be careful that you dont harvest too soon.
Dont just take what the seed seller said as the normal bloom time, or the time stated on the seed package. You need to get a 60x microscope on eBay for $5.00 and wait until you see, depending on the strain, 50% - 80% amber trichomes. Thats when you harvest. More THC is produced when the trichomes are amber.
I hope this helps. The plants will tell you when to harvest.
The more amber (80%) the more couchlock. Harvesting when 50% are amber can give more of a heady high with more energy.
Now I have to ask, is anyone else counting like Mr. Leprechaun?
My belief is all the seed banks count from when the plant is flipped; it's also my experience that counting from the day you flip and 8 week strain goes 8 weeks... Also there's much less ambiguity in the counting.

12/12 when you flip the time is the only thing, constant...IMO
LED growers have their own calendar?
I wouldn't think so, photo period is photo period.
The only people I know who count like that, are outdoor growers. Mainly because they don't know *exactly* when flowering was initiated.Quote:
