Patient Talking Circle today from 12-2 pm

Hey everybody, just a quick reminder in case your not on the newsletter as a patient...don't forget that Sandia B is having their 'patient talking circle' today from 12 noon to 2 pm at their pick-up location. Im thinking this will be a good idea for some of us patients to connect face to face and hear what other patients that arent on this forum have to say about the program, quality, etc. I hope to see you guys there! I'll be the asian with the notebook haha so if you see me please come and say hi! My real name is Chris or Christopher so don't feel shy! I'd love to meet some of you guys in person and discuss the NMMCP in face :D And who knows....afterwards there may be an unofficial patient medication session. :stoned:

Dam Chris I had seen that Sandia was having this talking circle thing going on but my plate has been pretty full this last couple of weeks.Seems everybody has had a harvest.So how did that get together go?

Haha yeah, seems like everybody had a harvest for the new year. Some better than others ;) haha. as far as the patient circle went, it went really great! There were less ppl then i thought would show up, but there was still about 10-13 people that showed up. Big props to Sandia for letting us use their space! The meeting itself was pretty informal, we just covered some basic topics and answered some questions and pretty much mingled amongst ourselves. Some topics we covered were seeds in product from producers, how to avoid hermaphrodites/minimizing the chance of hermies, amount of time you should say was the last time you ingested your medicine if you're ever pulled over (4 hours seems to be the magic number) to avoid a DUI which is still illegal in the state of NM. Like i mentioned before, it was pretty informal so we kinda jumped around from topicc to topic. One good thing however alf, is that a couple of patients and the ppl at Sandia volunteered me to set up the next patient meeting and try and get a little more structure in the actual meeting itself! I talked to patients about setting up a group for patients, and every single patient i spoke to was interested. I got all the patients contact info, and NO i didn't violate HIPAA or anything, I just passed around a sheet and if people wanted to be kept up to date on the next meeting, they just wrote their contact info down. I think that this is a good start to getting in touch with more patients and hopefully the start to something great. Also, on a side note, meeeting with my web designer friend for lunch tomorrow to discuss some pro bono webpage work =)
