Hello,
I am a student writer in the Bay Area and I have begun the process of getting my medical marijuana card. I have decided to write my Senior Thesis Paper on my own experience and the melodrama surrounding the debate over medicinal marijuana (and marijuana in general).
I was wondering if there are any MMJ users out there who would be willing to chat with me about their experience. I am interested in how the coverage and portrayal of marijuana in the media affectss the reception of medical marijuana in the general public.
So here are my questions for you:
-What's your story?
-Why do you use medical marijuana?
-How does the negative coverage of marijuana, like the commercials of the boy forgetting to pick up his little brother from practice because he was off gettin' high, make you feel about using marijuana medicinally?
-Do you feel comfortable telling people you smoke medicinal marijuana?
-If so, who do you tell, and who do you not tell?
-Do you believe that medicinal marijuana is abused too often by people who don't really need it?
-And anything else you feel like sharing!

IMO....the general public has already opened their eyes to this situation of suppression.... 80% of Americans are in favor of medical marijuana....therefore I believe most people already read through the lines when viewing anti-cannabis propaganda.... It's the same business work ethic that's been going on for the last 70 years.... Things will definitely change when the old farts running things die off and the younger generation takes over.... We can only hope the corporations don't become our government....oh wait, too late....
-Do you feel comfortable telling people you smoke medicinal marijuana? ----Once I get to know someone, sure I'll tell them.... Most people who know me can smell it on me.... I always love it when people say, "Hey you smell like cannabis.".... And I reply, "Yes, yes I do."....
-If so, who do you tell, and who do you not tell? ----Don't tell anyone you don't know and share with anyone you know and feel comfortable telling....
-Do you believe that medicinal marijuana is abused too often by people who don't really need it? Who has the ultimate wisdom to say that this person should and that person shouldn't??? No one person or group of people should have the power that our government has today.... It does not matter if someone "needs" medical marijuana or not.... The fact of the matter is that cannabis use has only been prohibited for a minuscule amount of time when compared to how long the plant species has been on Earth....
-And anything else you feel like sharing! ----It's a plant.... How are we supposed to continue to believe that it is truly dangerous to us.... The last time I checked, armed goons kick down doors and shoot/kill people out of fright....not plants....

Oh my gosh, that was such an intense video! I never knew that was happening to ppl? They need to put that on MTVjams. Ppl should see that. I'm showing all my friends at work.
I cant imagine what those little kids were going through.

The last raid/murder shown was of a fellow Marine Veteran.... And to this day the police haven't found any evidence to pin him to the accusations that were brought about.... It's hard for me to understand why it's ok for "police" to kick in a door and literally kill someone and not get punished....
