If mj was legalized could anybody grow it or you would just have the right to grow for personal usage?

I think if mj was legalized, they would controll it like perscription drugs. Incorporating it into parmacies and adding tax, and strickter regulations. Missuse and abuse of it would be treated like any other felony drug abuse casses. Like if someone was to get busted selling their perscription pain pills, that's a felony. It would suck I think. At least where I'm at in the world. Also it would most likely become cheaperin a way, in price and quality. Since it would be easier to access, ppl wouldn't need to grow it, and growing might be considered illegal so where would u get the good stuff if they didn't have it in pharmacies? Wow I can't even put my train of thaught into words... I think it would be a mess, just a mess...

That what I thought, so if people want to know why decriminalize not legalise where there you go. decriminalize mj means you cant get arrested for personal possession or use. And you can grow your own for personal usage. But prevents criminals from making drug traffic.And there is no control by the governement other than for criminal acts. NO TAX!!!

It could end up being any number of models at the federal level.

In 2012 Colorado will have a 'Regulate marijuana like alcohol' bill on the ballot that will use the current regulations for the medical marijuana industry and extend them to include all adults over 21 years of age.

Dispensaries would become similar to liquor stores (ID required) and the state would have oversight to ensure safe products are being sold to adults of age.

Personally, pharmacists do not have in depth knowledge into the effects of different strains, some of which are much more effective in treating pain, others better for nausea, etc.

Even though good growers have been treated like criminals, cannabis really does require expertise to produce at the medicinal level. Budtenders in our shop answer a lot of important questions that patients have, and that is something you wouldn't find in a pharmacy.

I would be more impressed of the percentage of voters that would like to Legalize, as opposed to how many Americans simply want it?
As per CA, it was on the ballot, only 43% of the voters voted for legalization. I was one! When I voted, I was more for Medicinal Use only, but-whatever we can get, I would go for. I have since become more aware of the shitty laws that PGS420 points out and have swayed completely to Legalization. A felony for sharing-no way! But that is what the law is, right now!

AS per what most Activists are predicting and seem to want, it may be regulated thru the corner store and over a certain age to buy. Which makes one wonder, who has been arrested for moonshine in this century? We may be relagated to 'backyard stills' and continued indoor grows.

I was swayed for total legalization when I realized, they will never be able to figure out how to handle it, unless they invoke it along with some existing substance like cigarettes. Pay taxes, etc. But, the tax man will not like you growing. It will be a fucking mess trying to iron it out. In the meantime, I sure hope someone is slipping me mine in the 'old folks home.'

I am betting, it will take a long. . .long time. AS, 50% may want it legalized and that majority is most likely so damn 'loaded' they won't get up and go vote, because you can be cited for DWI for prescription medication as well as anything else you have in your bloodstream, if driving 'suspiciously'. I saw two young men just this evening (on my way home with friends from supper) passing a MJ pipe they couldn't seem to keep lit, especially the driver-was shaking my finger at 'um and wanting them to pass it to me.

Just because you have a prescription for anything, the first thing the cautions on the label cautions you : Do not drive or operate machinery until you are acclimated to the medication! Which means, alot of people are under the influence and if you are unlucky enough to have one hit you when you are driving-boom! Not such a good scenario! But, it already exists and pot needs to be in the same category. Except, I doubt the pharmacueticals are going to let this ride and they have alot of $ to fight legalization.

I was for mmj use only, until recently. Most of my family (that does not partake) are for total legalization so we can pay taxes on it, like they do cigs/ etc. It may take that honest and open communication with our friends and family on a local level to get them to vote. Oh, wait a minute:

For those of you that are not voting--register and VOTE by absentee ballot. YOu can do that 'loaded' from home. And get involved, or support those of us that are!

Why have I changed from mmj to total legalization (and I want us to be able to grow, as well). Because, it is vastly becoming legal for mmj in most states and others trying. We need the Nat'l Gov't to legalize it! Do you really think the "Bible Belt' will be legalizing in their states in this century? Plus, they have some of the best territory to grow in. It could boost their economy, but those Bible Thumpers! Well, lets just say, I've spent some time there and have relatives and friends in 'the Bible Belt.' Not to mention, I was First Southern Baptist! Key word, was!

I am thinking that you do not have a majority of users in any state and more users in a variety of several for a majority, but collectively by national standards we may have a better chance across the nation and others can speak in states that have not been able to get it on their ballots.

Aside from voting: We do not want the money monger local Drug Store and your HMO to be distributing it! If you aren't familiar with Medicare, trust me, you cannot afford the medication. This will make it harder to get! I see so many medications that were available years ago and then replaced with less effective and more expensive ones in lieu of the good old standbys we used that are pennies on the dollar. Drug companies, simply stop manufacturing older effective cheaper ones for more $ and new Docs are being educated with new medication and don't even know of the previously cheaper ones. WE must keep major pharmacy away from something we can grow ourselves! Plus, they are already making synthetic versions and if you haven't tried any, I have and can tell you==Ineffective!

We must support Norml, ASA, MAPP and any other entity that is fighting for our rights. It is being done and they are recruiting more people all the time. As, my age group is starting to retire, we no longer fear the loss of our job to march for a cause! I use to send a monthly donation to my favorite group to support it, as I did not want my face on TV. I don't care now. But, if you grow or have a job you need to pass piss tests, your best bet is to support the cause with a few dollars a year to any activist group that is legit!

Just 8 days ago the Southern Ca, Orange County Convention of M.D.'s supported LEGALIZATION. As writing 'reqs' simply puts Docz in a 'Catch 22' situation due to the Federal Laws. And Doctors are becoming more familiar with medical use. As, most my age, prefer to not use prescribed medication and obtain pot grown by friends, of course!

We will always have a need for collectives and despensaries, as pointed out by DR, they really do know which one (strain) they have, that is best for what ails you! You will need them when you lose a crop or simply want to try different strains! Plus, the medibles-my secret pleasure. My friends were surprised, last summer when I told them I was using a medical sucker for years while working in the yard with them or whatever project was set up for the day. You don't have to be a lush about anything and can find the proper dose for yourself with proper education of anything.

We have a collective (not so local to me) but it has all kinds of things offered: Education on strains and making it available at a low cost. The cost has gone down by 50% in the past 2 years there! Plus, they do allow you to 'make an offer' and patients to get their medication! They teach you to grow, etc.

Speculating-It may be legalized in this State at some point. As, we do plan to have it on the ballot of the next election for complete legalization. And other states are working on it. We need to place more efforts toward Legalization and the medical field to support it!

Having spent a great deal of time in the ER, I have treated many O.D.'s that did not make it and only weed users that have panic attacks and hyperventilation! You can't O.D. on pot: So, bring it on and work for Total Legalization. Don't wait for it to happen. Support in any way you can!

hello. people getting baked do no harm. people still believe baked is more than four hours out of a day to every user. for most it is at home after work. the other side is 46% are opposed. the past year has shown a sharp decline in the opposition. it is a downward trend that has been continuing for the past 20 years. the vocal majority has been boldly going where justices claim we must tread- civil disobedience changes bad laws. as mentioned, the fear factor has silenced the majority of users; so successfully that the public has been able to deny the vast appetite for cannabis in our society. this vocal effort over the past year has helped the cause tremendously, and it is time to turn up the volume. stop bickering about variations, and vote to legalize now. the majority are now in favor, and with continued effort, the fears will be defeated, and the majority will grow into the vast majority. it has been proven now that it is only a matter of time for numerical victories, so now only the criminals are keeping it illegal. keep up the great work, and bring the bounty of cannabis dispensaries to every state. the figures from California are an example other states use, and the industry there is great. still unable to log in on the homepage, and suffering in Alabama...Larry
