Smoking the rainbow?

So have already decided to try flavoring the nugget of kush I have but think it would be fun to color it. is there a way to re-cure it to give it a new color? I was thinking soak a cotton swab with purple food dye and water solution then dabbing the nugget. But I've heard it can make the weed harsh and unpleasant. Any ideas my brethren? :pimp:

Some post say add food dye to water before adding it to soil, others using water and food dye in a vase with fresh cut flowers so they suck up the color and other one said use black light during last stage of flowering. nothing about dried buds sorry.
