Crispy Buds & Curing

I had to rescue my best plant during day 3 or a cold rain stretch of weather. Have never harvested a drenched plant but had black mold growing and didn't want to lose my plant. We used a dehumidifyer and had the humidity at 50-55 and the temp in the low to mid 70's. It was crisp in 3 days. I have never dried this way and am accustom to 7 days typically but was so worried about mold.
I just put them in glass jars and will probably need to add something for moisture. This is the first year I have used the curing method. I will be able to open them for the first 3 days but then will be away for 2 days. Will not opening them be a problem? Hopefully no moisture for mold but I hope enough to uncrisp my buds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

dehumidifiers are coonts for drying to fast imo,cut the rot off and add orange peel or potato peel to rehydrate it,two days un opened should be fine as well..
take the peel out to be sure eh..gluck.

I had never used a dehumidifier before and won't again! The plant was so wet when I brought it in but I guess I should have let it dry naturally. Does it matter when you put the peel or I have also read lettuce into the jar? I have added lettuce once and they have been in the jar almost a week but am thinking of adding more.

I am hoping you have a small hygrometer in the jar with them. You want to get the RH in there to 60-65% for at least a week or longer if you can. Slower is better in this curing stage, and the dehumidifier was a probably a bit too efficient. Lettuce, or my favorite, a cutting from one of my other flowering or even vegging plants, put into the jar will add a lot of humidity back into over dried product, but it won't be the same as if you had slow dried it. Do what you must though, and get it to 60-65% humidity asap, and keep it there as long as you can. It will be worth the trouble.

The curing process (first time I have done this) has added moisture back. I also used some fresh leaf and stem in addition to the lettuce at various times. Tried some and it was excellent! Not hot as I was afraid it would be.
