Hello all,
This is my first grow let me explain my setup. I have a built in closet with a 60x60x140 grow tent inside. I have an exhaust system with a carbon filter attached, this pulls air from the grow room and exhaust up through the cieling of the closet into the room above and is fitted to the top of the grow tent. The intake system is pulling cool air into the tent from the bottom and is pulling from under the floorboards in the closet. I have one 300watt CFL BLue spectrum 6500k in there on 18/6 light cycle. I have all the tent vents and pockets open. However the closet doors remain closed most of the time. I have a hygrometer about 5 inches under the lamp (where the plants will be, when i have everything running fine). The avergae temperature is 82.5 degrees F and RH is at 41%.
I plan to grow autoflowering strains only and have Afghan Kush Ryder and G13 Labs Pineapple express (8 germinating now). I am worried that when I put them in the grow tent the heat will cause issues.. maybe not at first but when they hit the veg stage / flower stage, the high 80's will cause issues... and i've run out of ideas on how i can cool the tent down now? I have proper intake/exhuast they are around 220 CFM but i believe the carbon filter slows down the exhaust a little bit but not sure of the effects of this.
I am going to buy a smallish osicilating fan that i can tie to the tent frame just above the canopy of plants hopefully this will create more breeze and help them deal with the heat better..
what I am asking really is what else can i do to keep temps down? Are there any tricks of the trade? I am new to this so any help will be greatly appricaiated.. i've taken a while scouting out all the bits and pieces and getting everything just right i dont want it to be ruined by too high temps.
Look forward to your answers, and thanks in advance! Great forums!
