Moving water to stimulate growth?
I've read in the MGHB that moving water creates negative ions, cleans the air and promotes stronger growth. I keep a large tub of water circulating with a pond pump in my grow area and one perculating with a fish pump as well as two other tubs just filled with water. I've also soaked blankets to increas the humidity and keep the area cooler. I thought a good idea would be to pack the area with straw and soak it down every day to increase humidity and to work as a cooling agent.
My hope/intent is to raise the humidity level, hopefully cooling the area by a degree or two and the other positive effects moving water may have. I've read that being around moving water enhances peoples moods. My grow area gets very hot, 90's through July and Aug and is very, very dry.
I haven't experienced any heat related issues other then frequent watering, my friend just a few miles away is afraid of losing hers to the heat.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this or is it just a waste of time and water?

the moving water is plausible in theory, but in the environment aforementioned you're simply swapping a heat issue for a much more dangerous mold issue. Sometimes a few small changes can make all the difference, don't get carried away as Myself and many other MJers do.

Too hot for mold to develop outside here at least through the summer and the natural humidity is very low. I was actually tring to increase the humidity because it's so dry.

putting straw down and soaking it every day? Wet blankets too? I get you're trying to increase the humidity but that's overboard. If you don't get a mold or fungus episode, rats and other rodents would also like the conditions you're making especially the straw.

We've averaged over 90 degrees for the last week, it doesn't matter how much I soak things down they are dry by 3 p/m. Didn't find any straw but the blankets worked great for keeping the area a little cooler. The mister seemed to work pretty well and was a lot less hassle.
