I'm trying to make a Kava extract using 80 proof vodka because I couldn't get everclear or a higher percentage vodka. Will it work? I've soaked it and blended it regularly in my smoothie blender for 2 weeks now. Since kavalactones are also fat soluble I added some olive oil to it also. Am I doing this right or did I just waste a half cup of my nasty kava powder?
