Outdoor stealth garden grow question...

Hi All...

Its been a long time since I have been around these places? Well lets see marriage and 2 kids later I' still token just not growin'. At least not like I used to in a cabinet box in coco in a downtown apartment. Now I have a house, although small its nice but there is really no place to grow indoors with my current family. So I thought I might try and do a late start outdoors in our existing garden. Started late because I didn't want giant plants well I did actually but knew it wouldn't be wise.

I'm used to stealth box tie down growing so I'm hoping to pull this off outdoors. So far so good. I have already tied one down and the other 2 (total 3 plants) are getting ready for their first bend tie down.

Wow its feels good to be posting again. Ill sneak a picture later this weekend. The strains are kind of unknown. However They were from my old grow box so I have narrowed it down to what I remember. I do know that a fellow cannabis.com friend gave me some of the seeds.

possible strains are// Papya F2/Lowryder /Boggle Gum Mix/ Or a sativa of some kind. I planted 9 seed sand all sprouted I picked the most interesting 3 and planted them into bigger pots and threw the rest away. Just no space.

One plant looked so super small compared to all the others. I'm hoping that this is a papya as I remember this have small characteristics when I cloned it in my box for a bunch of times. I kept using it because it stayed so low and bushy. Hopefully this will help me keep it stealth in the garden from the neighbours.

One question I had.. I have put these in pots with potting soil (peat based) I have added fox farm food Ocean Mix (powder form). But I have had problems with a squirrels digging up that mix in the pots. He doesn't mess with the plant but I think he may be trying to burry nuts or somthing. Is it ok for me to cover the top of the potting soil with wood chips (Black) like I have done with my flower bed in which these plants will hide? Or will that meess with the balance of the PH in the peat too much?

Welcome back! With those strains, should be a nice plant regardless :thumbsup:

I know certain types of straw can mess with ph, not sure about wood chips.

So do you have to hide it from your spouse as well lol
Are all your plants tied somehow or just the MJ?

No not from spouse... I'm not stupid enough to try and pull that one under the wife. She would have a fit if she didn't want it there and that would not be good for me as i'm sure some of you would agree.

But no none of the flowers are tied down. I'm just trying to keep the Ganja from getting big. If they stay small I can hide em or move em if I need to. Its really my neighbours that I am hiding them from and Its should be fine as long as they don't smell too bad during flowering (wishful thinking 2 out of three go female I think 3 would stink too much). thats really what i'm afraid of once they smell it might cause some to peek over the not too high fence. once they get bigger I am going to put fake flowers on the branches to hopefully disguise them a little. I read that somewhere a long time ago. seems like a good idea. They are hidden behind some lilies with big bushy bottoms. these lilies grow tall with big blade leaves at the bottom.

Ill grab a picture this weekend forsure. mann i miss the buzz from growing... every night I go out and inspect my plants like ai used to in the box...

next year i think I would like to plan a stealth outdoor grow around some forest land somewhere. that would be satisfying for sure. I have thought about that for some time now but I have been to busy with life to try and pull that one off yet. I don't exactly live in a forest area. so it will take some dedication and perhaps a partner.

Peat is low PH so the PH of the wood chips should not be a problem.
However, as the wood breaks down it uses nitrogen and can cause yellowing leaf and slow growth.
Just fashion a soil cover out of galvanized "hardware cloth" to stump the squirrels.

Heres some pictures... The middle one is the plant that stayed really small however now its starting to catch up.

I also need to work on getting those flowers into healthy shape I really want them big and bushy to hide my plants as much as possible at least for a while. I have never cared much about the flower graden until I put my own flower in it. hmmmm

i would be careful on them plants your using to hide the MJ i have some and they seem to lean into the MJ your just best to not hide them in that part or use a plant that just grows upwards

mines 3 weeks yet only on first set of leaves lol so nice one

I should be good those flowers are in their second season in that spot. They dont get much taller or wider from here on in. The pictures might not show the right angles but theres lots of room and soon the mary J will soar above those flowers no problems. except you'll be able to see them. There is rally no better plants to hide them with its a small yard.

but the plants look nice and healthy so thats good

did you start the kids with a light indoors then went out side?

No I started them outdoors about 5wks ago

But it's best when u can start them inside from what I have herd anyways
