Antoher noob that can't sex a plant, help please.
I know, I know, you hear it all the time.
My first ever grow of several plants, 2.5-5 feet tall, outdoors, in the mid south, au natural but in pots on the ground. about several weeks in I found a lot of the plants exhibiting the "ball and stick" and yanked 'em. I germinated at different times through late March, April and early May as I lost plants to inexperience.
I really had no problem with sex until recently but I now have several plants I thought were female exhibiting what seems to be male parts(I'm still stupid) but not looking like the ones from the spring, which I might add seemed early but my plants were stressed pretty bad while I learned, not to mention regular yard dirt and some ealry miracle grow and triple-13. I might also mention I ignorantly pulled most all my fan leaves from plants about late May to increase light due to overcrowding conditions.
I know so much is so wrong its a miracle they are alive at all! Then there are the storms and that damage....
I'm thinnking males but I want pro opinions before I yank my precious babies and hinder my pot indepedence!
Here are some pics

That is what I feared, aaarrgh! Sorry for such crappy pics, they looked good on the back of the camera.
I was afraid they would be males but hoping for female buds, so any bulbous apendages is a male?
I noticed some of my plants don't have but one pistil and are not very bushy, possible males in a week or so? God I hope not, I'll have like 5 plants otherwise.
Well, I figure if I can grow in this crap soil and sad conditions, I should be able to go indoors and have good success under flourescents for the first few grows, maybe? This has been fun, I'll try indoors with brickweed seeds before investing in good feminized seeds. I am not sure what I would want to grow, too many varieties, All I think I have ever really had is brick weed.
Thanks for the painful confirmation, all that time and care, but lesson learned. Thanks for the suggestion of bagging them beforehand, I'll do just that and hope my crop is not junk already.
Here are a few pics of the grow in mid June, two of the individual plants have just been confirmed as male, DAMN, and they were some of the best looking plants, such is life.

Just wanted to add, I thought cannibis plants discouraged bugs, I can not believe the myriad of bugs on these plants! I'll try to get a pic of the Manti that have populated each plant, ONE to a plant. Ants are picking these things free of spider mites that try to get a foot hold and the worms that try to eat the leaves, I've had more storm and weather problems than any bugs or molds(knocking feverishly on the oak table!!!!!!!). God must have really liked this plant to make it so inviting to nice bugs that keep it clean. Am I imagining this phenom. Long day.

Yea anytime you have clusters like that youre looking at a male or hermi. Either case you dont want them around the girls. Theres a bunch of pics on here of male/females. You are looking for the little white hairs. When in doubt post a pic like you did and someone on here will tell you.

Bagseeds are hard to grow. Their even harder to grow with weak lighting indoors.
Buy some good standard hybrid seeds. (like Nirvana)... Give yourself a fighting chance.
The smoke will reward you later.

I agree with Dutch. My avatar is actually some brick weed i grew out last year. Ive had some good results with nirvana and they are cheap compared to alot of seedbanks.
Id pay close attention to those ants. They love to make beds in your flower pots and can really screw things up. They can turn your dirt to dust. Im always fighting them outside.

Even if you can grow well outdoors do not think it is as simple as just growing indoors. I only grow indoors. I shudder to think of the issues going outdoors. You should think the same of growing indoors as you now have a whole new set of considerations during a plant grow. Bag seeds are risky and I cannot agree more with getting good quality seeds from a reputable bank.

Hey , thanks guys. I stopped this morning to pull those plants and they had dropped some of the "balls" onto the "sticks" and was much more recognizable than before. I had noticed those buddy preflowers, in fact you can see them on a few of the pics I posted last if you look real close and I was suspicious then but hesistant to pull my babies. I guess I was just hoping beyond hope they were the beginings of buds since I thought I had caught all the males several weeks ago.
I like the site, thanks for being here, I checked out a few seed banks and I like the one with the 20 free seeds with every order, not going to mention any names lest I get flamed. Is there a section on here that can help me determine what would be best for my region? well I guess if I'm going indoors, it does not matter. How about a guide to see what will grow best under certain lights? I'm poor so cool and warm flourescents are all I can afford at the moment, I'll graduate to something better later when I can afford it and I am less confused about all the different grow methods out there. I'm looking for simple and cheap, but I guess that would be no better than brickweed.
After all I pulled the errant males, I still have 18 plants, I just hope I caught those males and bagged them carefully enough to have some decent smoke.
So going indoors is not easier, just different? OH man....
Well, at least things like the weather are easier to control, no wind to knock my plants into the dirt and strip them of leaves, I'm pretty good at that myself, lol.
Again, Thanks, and I'll post some more pics when they are ready to harvest. I'll be lurking in the other sections to learn about harvesting and curing things.

If you do go indoor, just know you'll get what you pay for.
gotta think:
lights
ventilation
shelter
air scrubber
timers
etc
Although, having complete control over your grow... priceless
