Patient Home Growing Regulations?

I am disabled and cannot afford to consult a lawyer on this. So any info given is much appreciated. With all the new laws and regualtions its hard to find answers for what the law is today concerning these issues. I cannot afford to pay high prices for medicine at a dispensary. Even the cheapest prices are still out of my reach. I live on very little after i pay my bills and that leaves nothing to buy meds with.

I have Ankylosing Spondilitis (crippling arthritis causing my spine and hips to fuse solid) and Chron's Disease both are pretty severe and MMJ works wonders for my pain and spasms and Chronic Nausea. I consume a lot to help with these chronic diseases. So growing is my only option but i dont want to get thrown in jail. I would not last long in there because i cannot defend myself.

In Colorado Springs/ El paso county is there a buffer requirement for growing in your house from schools day cares churches ect.

Which schools do they count . Like Colleges Universities High Schools middle elementary pre-schools ect.

If so how far from the resident to said place does it have to be. Do they measure from the corner of the property or from the actual place the plants sit to said point.

If i sign up with a MMC can i still grow at home? I need to get clones from some where thats trusted.

Can you still even buy clones legally?

You can grow in your home. Just follow the 3/3 plan or your edibles rec. Check with your city about limits on home growing. My opinion is that they cannot say how much you can grow, but they will try. By the sound of things, you could grow more than the allotted 6 plants.

If you have your red card, you can shop for clones at any dispensary. They can also be your caregiver, and you can also grow your plants at the same time.

or you can go old school and say f it. im sure dispensaries started from that.

Did a little research and may have good news for you. Colorado Springs' website just refers to presenting an affirmative defense.

Generally, if you're growing for yourself, you're of little interest to authorities. You can sign up with an mmc and still grow for yourself, but you can also shop at an mmc without signing over anything. That's your choice, so don't let them tell you otherwise. Clones, or "immature plants" to the state, are legal as long as they are in a 2 inch by 2 inch medium and no taller than 8 inches. After that, they become a plant.

One word of advice: think a lot about how you set up your grow, as costs can spiral quickly. I talk to a lot of caregivers that are basically breaking even or are spending more than they thought they would.

That being said, growing for yourself is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Just try to avoid the temptation to harvest early! :) Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I read that info too but didnt know if it was outdated with all the new rules changes that just passed. Thanks for the second opinion on it i appreciate it. My set up will be nothing elaborate thats for sure. I have grown before very cheaply with CFL's with very decent results i must say in a small area. Was very cost effective. Way cheaper than buying thats for sure.

I just stopped due to the new laws because i couldnt afford to risk my freedom when i missed a law change. I have a clean record and I dont want to break any laws and want to keep it that way. So to me it wasnt worth the risk.

Plus like i said with my problems i wouldnt last long serving a prison term. I may wait until this thing with the feds shakes out and see what they are going to do with the new threats recently. One cop throwing me to ground when i dont move fast enough for them due to my spine and hips being fused if i am caught in a MMC raid will break my back and most likely paralyze me due to the way the fuses are right around my nerves. I couldnt even lay on my stomach with hands behind my back if they held a gun to my head. Its been 15 years or more since i was able to lay on my stomach. Anyways just some reasoning behind why i am so adamant about not breaking the law and giving a cop a reason to put his knee in my back.

Grow for it. You have nothing to fear from the Feds. After a ten-year hiatus from growing, I've finally bought a home and look forward to tomatoes and pot this winter. I'll keep the dope for medical use, but them 'maters are going on the black market.

if you are growing 6 or fewer plants, you are legal on your private property growing for yourself as a patient. no matter where you are in Colorado.
