My" friend" is growing his first hydro garden. The clones have begun to sprout roots. They are in clay pellets. Using a light schedule of 14-10. Any suggestions as to what's next? Adjust nutrients? Change light time? What to expect?

I would have light time at 18/6 and anything else I pretty much would have to see what they look like. You ask about adjusting nutes but dont say what you giving them now. More info gets more answers.
I'd personally go straight to 24 hours on with half strength nutes. Remember to check the ph of your water.
As said IMO I would try to get a good root base before trying to reach for the sky but thats just my 2 airstones worth.
Next would be the veg stage....Quote:

Like tinytoon mentioned, change your light schedule to 18/6. 24/7 lighting will not allow your plant(s) to store energy that is needed....
If nutrients are mixed in correctly and pH is kept where it should be for early stages of veg, 5.8-6.0 IMO, you can expect growth....
Let us know what nutes, we'll help you with mix and ppm....
