Best way to move a seedling
What would be the best way to move a small seedling (cotyledons and 1 or 2 sets of leaves at max) from a starter pot to an outdoor plot? I would have to seperate them and take the 1-2 hundred meters not in soil (its in a trashcan with old soil I found) They can absolutely not grow there as it is in plain sight of a highway if they got to be 4+ feet. SOOO, what would be the safest way to move a small seedling that is out of soil?

umm if its in a trashcan right now Id say you should try and scoop up as much dirt as you could all at once without hurting the plant. Normally people just put em in little papercups or peat pots and just squeeze a little bit from the side while turning it upside down.

soup spoon...
'cut' the area around the seedling gently with a non-serrated knife to separate roots and loosen soil then scoop out with the spoon disturbing the roots as little as possible then place in prepared hole...water with a liberal dose of super-thrive then keep moist...never soaked or dry until plant takes hold (about a week).
