telling us about bannings

It seems that quite often when someone is banned there will be one or two posts about why and blah blah blah. I think it would be nice, easy, and effective for a moderateor or administrator to make a simple thread when a member is banned from the sight. Just put who it was why it was and when. Links to bad threads/posts would be nice too. This would certaintly clear some speculation up and also could make bannings farer as there must be evidence to show that it is not out of dislike or something that is not ban worthy.

I say we have a "ban lottery"... It could be loads of fun, a random ban every day!

I agree, i thought that shoulda happened when i was banned, THis also has been discussed by a few mods, well atleast showed that he was interested in the idea(del...) yeah but i dont tihnk its ever gonna get done.

There are some ppl who post and have the word "Banned" under their name. Kind of an oxymoron.

The moderators are here to protect the site, and for the most part we must respect their judgement, even when they are wrong. If they abuse their authority, an appeal to a higher power should be allowed, although I'm not sure it all needs to be public.

There is no one with Banned under their username who is actively posting - at least not under the banned name. What you are seeing are posts they made prior to the ban being enacted.

As for posting threads regarding bans, I will discuss it with the other staff members. Another major message board I belong to has a similar policy of announcing bans for established posters, and it seems like a good idea on the face of it.

i like it beeble.....i think it shows people what the person did and wards other people from doing the same thing.
