We are told that Global Warming is in large part caused by excessive emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere. (the science is setteled is it not?)
In light of the newest data showing the world is now headed for a long period of Global Cooling do we not need to concentrate our efforts on producing even more CO2 emissions?
How can we best produce the needed CO2 emmissions we will so desperately require to fight the coming Global Cooling so we can "save the planet"?

Well, I haven't heard that-first golbal warming, now global cooling? I am too old for the cold, guess I need to move to Palm Springs-just can't take the long freeze. If next few winters like the past few, ugh!
Actually in our lifetime (I am 61) it was first Global Cooling (1970's era Impending Ice Age hysteria) then Global Warming (Climate Crisis hysteria). The next mania will be about Global Cooling.Quote:

This stuff is very much like Market Manias in that worldwide panics usually have thier peaks at about the time that the subject of the unjustified panic is over. The Dutch Tulip Mania long ago is the most often cited instance of this phenomenon in markets. The manias do not end until those who are the very least qualified (to judge) and easily lead are convinced. The current Global Warming Panic has peaked at about the same time as the underlying facts of the situation have changed.
Over-reaction is the hallmark of the public as a whole. This is why this stuff is generational, needing a new batch of underinformed to be mislead.
:thumbsup:So, based on your seemingly knowledgeable opinion, when is the expected 'global warming' to resume. Really makes a great deal of sense. I recall it seemingly hot when a child and we called it warm or mild summer. A few years back, I recall the summers being much milder. Now, the extreme winter the past 2 years has generated my moving to a climate without snow. Of course (at 58) arthritis has a lot to do with how I perceive my environment. I love your thread! I like to be informed from what sounds like a very informed person with experience! Thank you Max!:jointsmile:

Glad you enjoy the thread. I do have a reasonably complete education in markets and how they work which allows me to seem exceptionally knowledgable relative to most of the public. Don't let that fool you into thinking I am any brighter than the average Park Ranger.:cool:
I just recently came into contact with the info regarding the predicted (now actual) reduction of sun energy output which has the biggest effect on the earth's climate no matter what the "Crisis" fans would have you believe. I do not have a link to the info but will try to find it for you. I think I recall that the sun energy cycles are decades long. This helps explain why the warming trend over the past few decades has convinced many that it will never end. That is why you hear statements such as "not in living memory" when some people talk about global warming. If the Global Warming alarmists had only looked at the 1300s-1500s climate data and the fact that they had grape vinyards and orange groves in the UK due to the "Medievil Warming Period". Of course it was made more difficult for the public to see this data when the Global Warming grant seekers cooked the books. It is no surprise that the biggest hero of the GW's is a below average thinker.
I too have arthritis (psoriatic) and certainly have less pain during warm weather. I do not know if pot actually makes the pain go away but certainly makes me more able to tolerate it. Pot is definately the least damaging of all the meds for this purpose. They used to give a "Pain Index" reading on some weather channels in the mid-west, I do not know if they still do.

I recently copied the "Myths and Facts" thread on this forum and have begun distributing it to friends who, like most of the public, have been grossly misinformed by the govt in hopes of at least changing a few of the possible "No" votes in the 2012 elections.
