One plant in tray with aggressive leaf curling?!?!?!?
I have a 4 x 8 tray with several strains in it. One plant has very bad leaf curl and the rest are fine (even the others that are the same strain).
System:
1000 watt hps (bulbs need replaced) air cooled (can touch the glass cover)
Botanicare Nutrients (PBP B, Liquid K, CalMag, Aqua shield, dash hydroplex)
PPM 1500 ph 5.8 (PPM up from 1350 this res change...yesterday)
Used ZHO and Voodoo at start
Temps and Humidity stable using Sentinel EVC2 (68-88 and less than 55%)
1 gallon smart pots with rockwool croutons. The pots are moist.
Flood once daily
lots of circulation fans
CO2 on a timer
It only effects the top leaves so I thought maybe they are too close to the light but the lights are cool and some leaves 24 inches away are doing it and others 18 inches away are not. The other plants off this strain are in the same tray but under a different light (that is shot...will be replaced this week) so maybe they would be doing it to if they were receiving more light?
Most unusual is it just one plant. You can see healthy leaves in the background
The only thing that has happened in the last 48 hours that was unusual was 1) I opened the door in the dark cycle (2 hours after lights went off) for 5 seconds 2 days ago and 2) The flood pump was disconnected and they missed a day of watering 1 day ago (got water last night) which meant they got an extra flood. But once again all these plants have the EXACT same treatment.
Any Ideas...crazy or otherwise...would be great.
My plan is to do nothing and think positive. I think its an underestimated technique.

ahh bro had the same deal, i blamed silica blast for its ph issues. though, im thinking because your pump went out you might have had some root damage which caused your problems. light issues as well as light/dark cycles are not your problem. many ? come to mind. are those affected, near the inlet for your nutes? you also said some others were affected but not as bad then you said again that it was the only one(little confused here, your pic suggests that more than one)? then you gave them an extra feeding which could be more of a problem and with all thats been written, i would say you have more problems to come. get some clearex and flush...most likely youll lose the worst of the lot. mistakes can make the biggest differences so do your best to prevent them, though it does happen. if your new to this, consider soil...fox farms is good to start with. im still going with root dehydration, once a day for that size of plants isnt enough in my opinion. then losing your pump for a day makes things worse, not to mention the double feeding. hope this helps.

Its just one plant. I should have just said the new growth was curling (some tops are close to light ,some not as close).
I use silica blast sometimes but don't have PH issues (not yet this cycle at least).
I have decided it must be a dehydration induced lockout because the roots look fine (at least the little nubs that stick through the smart pots). A friend of mine (a master grower by most standards) recommends flushing and suspects a lockout issue (He does not know about the up curl and burn yet).
I agree once a day sounds like not enough but I had soggy root problems last time so I switched to smart pots, added voodoo and ZHO to the regime and went to one watering a day. All the other plants look great so I`m sticking with it. Even the sides of the cloth pot are always moist so I suspect deep inside the pot the rockwool is still quite wet.
Update: Its been three days. Day one I just crossed my fingers. Day two I gave them a foliar with a dash of Liquid Karma. Day three, it has not gotten better and the smallest leaves (coming out of the very top of the bud) have developed burnt tips, that curl up. Some of the leaves have BOTH curls. Aggressive down curl that almost makes a closed circle but a sharp up curl at the tip. The up curl and the burnt area are EXACTLY the same area. WEIRD!
I'm gonna flush it tonight

Sometimes plants can just be finicky, I just had one die on me that I had done absolutely nothing different to then any of the others over the last two months, similar symptoms as you have but in early veg. stage. Fine one day the next day I was like WTF?
