New to New Mexico and need adivce!
Hey everybody! Im from the south where it is less of a crime to beat your wife vs having a little bit of pot :( I lived here for a bit last year but had to return home for my job. Well now Im back perminatly (sp?). Im not a pothead looking for a legal way to get my ways I truly base my life off mmj, if not I have to take more meds than I can afford!! I refuse to be a pilled up zombie, a few years back I was brutally robbed while visiting Florida and this has never left me. Its hard for me to find a doctor who will say I PSTD since I am not a veteran!! My home grown supply is gone and I really want to do this legally! I have trouble leaving my house and I'm afraid to make phone calls. Please I need some advice!! :(

Welcome to NM. The state requires relationship between doctor and patient. You don't state where you are living in NM so it is difficult for anyone to help you locate a doctor. Most of the doctors don't want their names shared. For PTSD you will need a primary care physician AND a psychiatrist. Go to NM DOH website and read all of the requirements. Good luck!

Tellin ya where I am would help lol! Im located in Santa Fe, Did allot of reading on this board and around the web. I read the DOH site multiple times and I think I got this figured out. I have all the paper work printed out, kinda scary at first but seems like no big deal. Just a whole lot to take in but I think I have made the right move moving here!

Nothing to be scared about you are not doing anything Illegal. all you need to do is get all the paper work filled out and submit it to DOH.If you are in Santa Fe you should have no problem finding doctors that are willing to sign your paper work if you have one of the qualifying conditions.

CORRECTION for PTSD
You only need 1 signature from a Psychiatrist.
The only current condition requiring two sigs is for chronic pain. (A primary and a pain specialist.)

Okay, one of those new changes I guess. I read the rules that there are additional requirements needed with about half of the approved conditions. I read it that the DOH wants a relationship with the certifying medical person and for it to NOT be like some of the other states where you have certifying professionals that will sign the paperwork without truly examining the patient....just pay the fee and they will sign the forms.
