My Experience with the Sun Opener

Yesterday I drank 2 cups of Heimia Salicifolia Sinicuichi tea from about 4 or 5 grams (not really sure, it might have been more). For info about it http://www.erowid.org/plants/sinicui...nicuichi.shtml

I started drinking the tea at about 2pm and finished around 2:30. I really didn't expect anything so I was in for a surprise. If I remember right I think it took about 1.5-2 hours before I felt anything. The first thing I noticed were my muscles getting sore and I also had stomach cramping. This soreness grew throughout the day, finally starting to go away sometime after 4:30 am.

At first I thought all I was going to get out of it was soreness but it was when my boyfriend and I were going to go to blockbuster that first I noticed I was not apprehensive (I have really bad anxiety problems) and when we were there (now this was a saturday night mind you so it was crowded) I was very relaxed despite the all the people. I didn't have any anxiety the whole time, it was amazing. I also felt more sane than I can remember ever feeling. I felt in control, calm, cool and collected. Nothing made me anxious or uncomfortable or even self-conscious. This is HIGHLY unusual for me. Normally I would barely be able to stand being in such an environment. So that's how I know it had very strong anxiolytic effects. I didn't feel high or sedated, it felt like natural relaxation. I felt unaffected by things that normally would make me uncomfortable. It was great.

I paid for this with incredible muscle soreness throughout the night and well into the morning, it eventually got so bad that I could hardly move. I was surprised it lasted so long.

One other thing I noticed is that there seemed to be stronger after images. Like when I would look at something bright, a light bulb, tv or computer and looked away there was a stronger, clearer after image than what I may have normally seen.

I didn't get much sleep. I kept waiting for something like long lost memories (it's supposed to make you remember things that happened a long time ago, possibly even prenatal) or some sort of audio hallucinations. When I was listening to a couple cds I thought some parts of some songs seemed a little different than I remember but that could have been placebo. I had half dream/half thought states that were about the sinicuichi but I don't remember any of that clearly.

Finally when I woke up this morning the muscle sorness was almost completely gone and now it's barely noticable.

I should add that I've read if you take this plant often it can cause memory loss. So with that plus the whole hours and hours of extreme soreness, I will only use this on special occasions/emergencies.

It was worth the physical discomfort to feel normal and sane for one day. It's such a shame that I cannot use this on a regular basis because it really took care of the anxiety problem so I will have to continue my search for the right herb.

That was a very interesting report and I'm glad that you survived the experience okay. I wish that there was a way,to isolate the component that helped ya,and git rid of the side-effects.

Have you tried the San Pedro cacti yet ? Have you read up yet,on what Erowid says about mescaline ?

Yea that would be nice. I actually took the San Pedro today (@ 5:30 am), 13 grams dried, powdered and stuffed into 13 capsuls. I should have felt nausia or something by about 8:15 am, now it's 11:47 and I haven't felt a thing! Maybe I got weak cactus. I don't think I'm lucky enough to skip the uncomfortable parts but I'm still waiting and hoping I'll experience something. I tried smoking some Salvia in desparation thinking that might help because I read where somebody did that. I got several minutes of nice closed eye visuals, although weak, like lines n stuff.

At least I got Salvia, I always seem to be able to get effects from that. I can tell my tolerance for it is going down because I definitely get more effects from smoking a little plain leaf. From nothing to a definite something! Salvia RULES! I really really wanna experience San Pedro though. Each entheogen has something valuable and unique to offer. I've read that San Pedro gives the best trips too.

Next time I'll try taking a little Syrian Rue with it because I've heard it amplifies the effects of the cactus. Of course I have to plan the day and then follow the MAOI diet for 2 days prior.

Well I was supposed to have reached the peak by now..still nothing. I'm gonna have to smoke some Salvia today to make up for it! Have I meantioned how freakin GREAT Salvia is!
