Digital ballast stopped working after half an hour? (HELP!)

i bought this 400w hps/mh digital ballast and lights set from hidhut.com and it arrived last night and 45 minuets after i hooked it up the light turned off, at first i thought it was the bulb that died so i put i the hps bulb n that one didnt light up either so im guessing it must be the ballast. i called hidhut this morning and they told me to send it back to them n there gonna test it and they might send me a new one. they also said 7 out of 10 times when they test it, it works n they send it back.

any one have any idea what i could do to fix it myself instead of sending it back? i really dont wanna wait two weeks n use fluorescent lights again. i was using the fluorescents for the baby seedlings and while i was waiting for my ballast n lights to arrive in the mail.
