Ok they just sprouted today they're about half an inch above the soil and theyre more white than green but they have a sort of brownigh part near the tiny leaves. Is this normal or is it showing signs of bad soil already?

Sounds like it, maybe just a genetic defect. Got any pics? they would sure help me give a proper diagnosis.
Are they see through white? or are ther just a pale whitish color?
I had an albino plant once but it died from lack of cholorophyl.
Without a camera, its gonna be tuff for any accurate assistance with your grow.
Way too early to tell if anything is wrong, let alone, if your soil is ok or not.
I think you said you were gonna use florescents, yes?
If so, get the light an inch away and get a fan on the sprout...
Do these thing right now!
Don;t fret about colors...it needs light to start producing chlorophyl...
get a camera.
Well home depot had a 60watt HPS bulb or somewhere around that wattage that fit into a normal fixture. So ima go get that today.
Didnt know they made those.
Make sure it isnt as close to the plants as you would have an CFL.
Ok its really unclear but u can see the discoloration near the leaves. And the dropping im fixing I know wat do to.
all plants are solid white after coming outta the dirt for 6 - about 12 hrs. they look quite streched.....what light u useing......put more dirt in the cup so your stem has more dirt to help hold it up and atlest get time on some compact florecents or hid light....hope this helps
A camera phone is better than none.
Your seedling is definately stretched already. I put them under light the very minute the hook is out of the soil.
Get a light on it now, and get a fan on it now as well.
This stretching will set your grow back up to a week.
All else appears normal.
