what are opinions on root balls when transplanting ?
Getting ready to transplant my seedlings, need to do it today but must wait a couple more. When there are roots that have circled around pot bottom should these danglers be trimmed before putting into larger pot . Also what about breaking up roots around outer edges of pot ?

Unless your "Seedlings" are about 10" tall and on their 6-7th set of TRUE leaves you shouldn't be considering any additional trauma to the roots.
I try to never disturb the root ball on a transplant, Gently turn the pots upside down, give em a light tap and perhaps a gentle tug to get em out, then plop em in new soil and water with a mild root stimulant (I use Techniflora, and the recipe say's root66 and SugarDaddy @ up potting)
Another tip I learned somewhere is to do it just before lights out, this reduces the amount of stress the roots go thru since the leaves aren't demanding so much circulation and nutrient uptake at night, it allows the roots to heal any damage (and even the most delicate up pot harms the roots a litte) before the leaves start demanding heavily of them.
Good luck and keep em green! :greenthumb:

Well, I guess I am lazy, I just take the plant from one pot and put into the bigger pot. No trimming, no additives. Just Ocean Forest.

Yep, did it like that for years with houseplants,.... still do! :D
I try to take a bit better care of the meds I'm growing,.... but the only thing I do any different is the feeding.

When I transplant I use half strength KLN as a drench.. It helps the roots grow roots..lol It really does do the trip with no need for ph up or down or any of those mojo moves.

Gosh littlemountain your having a bad run of it lately :(
I think if I was living in america I could very happily become a plant-sitter for people! lol. I've house-sat many times, pet-sit alot even here but plant-sitting would be great fun, a perfect learning experience and helping out someone at the same time. Tricky to do really, but yeah would be nice.
Best healthy wishes littlem

Thanks, not what I expected either, I had HIGH hopes of coming home that day and scouring the mountains for edible wild mushrooms, instead another setback. Not sure how I will pull this grow off, last one was difficult for me, I literally crawled from my growroom a few days. Only 30 yards away but seems like the other side of the world right now.I have a good woman in my life , supporting my hobby. Now about root balls, can I cut or do I just break the cirlces loose also what about the bottom of pot , the most bound. I will get this done tomorrow ,first thing- I hope! GA I still have some feeding questions for you- I'll get them to your addy later this day
