It's definitely doable. There are a number of full-duplex Java-based voice chat applications out there, maybe even some freeware ones. If Ron's interested, I could help set one up. VoIP is kinda bandwidth-intensive, though. I don't know what kind usage the server gets, but it might be too much to bother with. Bandwidth overages can get expensive. Might be better to set up a voice chat room on Yahoo! or something similar. I'll look into some options we might explore.
A more advanced chat would be great - please post the various chat options you find.

Will do!
This one looks pretty good. It's all off-server, so you don't have any bandwidth or maintenance issues to deal with. 10-chatter room will run you $30 a month, witha $15 one-time setup fee, which isn't bad. I can almost guarantee that's less than the extra bandwidth would cost by hosting a VoIP chat here would be.
Money isn't a big issue - outsourcing is good, since that's what we prefer - hosting chat ourselves is too much of a hassle and security risk; we have always outsourced chat since the beginning.
Still researching it, but the pricing looks right and a small 10 or so chatter room would be plenty to start ... let me know what else you're able to find. Thanks again.
