Is the NM DOH Approachable about new ideas?
I'm from Colorado and recently received both my Med Card and PPL. I was wondering how approachable the NMDOH was concerning the Med Cannabis act.
Here's a few ideas have coming from a state who in my opinion set up the MMJ program absolutely wrong.
1. Allow the excess Medicine grown by legitimate PPL card holders the ability to either provide free medicine to terminal patients. Also, allow them to sell their product to the Producers. It's pathetic that a Producer can run out of meds as easily as they do. There can be checks, balances, and quality control steps implemented to ensure proper meds are being provided to the producers.
2. Why not allow there to be a handful of Licensed, Taxable Dispensaries throughout the state - New Mexico is the 6th Least populated state in the nation and for someone who lives in S.E. New Mexico to travel to Albuquerque, or Santa Fe for Meds is absolutely ridiculous.
- I've had the pleasure of assisting a legitimate dispensary in Colorado (didn't do it for any money, nor did I accept any compensation) and it was great to help out. I can understand having strict laws, however there needs to be some leniency to ensure there is meds available for all patients. By not allowing this I can pretty much guarantee there are several patients illegally growing their own meds.
- To open a safe dispensary the major issues are Patient Safety, Dispensary Security, Quality of Meds provided, having a proper Budtender who can help patients in their selection of meds for illness, and ultimately follow all laws!!!!!
Just a few things I've been thinking about and I would love to hear others ideas.

my fiance and I are doing everything we can to help the advancement of the MMJ program here in NM. we got a lot of ideas but our main idea/goal is for the DOH to approve a patient operated Co-Op and ultimately allow our Co-op the opportunity to be self-sufficient by allowing us to sale our product to a producer or to patients but our core patient would always be supplied. of course it would be a co-op for people who are terminally ill or can-not afford there med's. I got the idea from the California Co-op WAMM.
So in the mean time we have a business open to help people get on the program and get through the program. Anything any patient might need help with. My fiance also has tons of recipes for many different medicinal ways of using cannabis other then smoking. Her Raw-Medicine recipes are very healing in so many ways.
we also help patients who are interested in growing there own medicine and don't know where to begin set up and guide them through through there 1st harvest and beyond. :thumbsup:

I like your idea of the Coop, and if it works it will be great. I've seen Coops started in Colorado and within 6 months some of the members get greedy and begin to expect more than they deserve (i.e. stop working for their meds and stop sharing with the Coop). I've also recently (very recently) began posting to help people who have a PPL get started with no experience. I've had a card since 2000 and don't claim to know it all since it's a learning experience every day and I'm strictly soil. I'd ultimately love to move to Hydro but for some reason I can't seem to wrap my head around it no matter how simple it is.
Right on for helping others - sounds like we have similar ideas and I'd love to work with you. I'm down South and there's nothing down here as far as Producers, etc.

right now we are calling it "Medical Marijuana Consultants" we are not a licensed "non-profit" yet but working under another license number until we can obtain one of our own. (im not to knowledgeable about business but im trying)
we want it to be non-profit because we ultimately just want to help as many people as we can but be able to support our family also.
If it were not for the MMJ program Idk where we both would be right now so we want to be able to let other share our same experience and do what we can to make this program flourish.
The name will change once we start running everything under our own license. the new one is cool. If you got any Ideas PLEASE let me know and if you would like to be involved to get our southern patients united that would be great.

well I would ove to start a Co-Op but implement some rules or contract to insure that greedyness does not overcome our patients. I am beggening to writw a proposal to the DOH to see if they would like my idea or not. probobly not because that means less monet for the producers so less money for the state.
