Pipe without an air-hole? - also hookah vs bong

Yeay, first post. :)

Okay, so I've smoked for a few years. Only pipe though, didn't wanna have to hide a bong.

Now... I moved, and the store I went to now only had pipes without an air-hole on the side.... I'm like... wtf?

I'm sure it'll work just fine, but is there any difference to how to smoke it? Kind of a dumb question, but I don't have a lot of friends that smokes, so I'd rather ask here than some retard.

Anyhow, are there any differences in how to inhale?

Also, while I'm at it... I usually get really sick from hookah. Is it likely to have the same effect on me with a water bong or is it completely different? I just assumed that it was the tobacco, but I have no means of finding out. Thinking about buying one though.
