Hello, I'm in Northern California and am relatively new to medical cannabis, and my doctor didn't explain a lot of the legal aspects to me. I poked around on canorml.org and would like to make sure that my understanding on these things is correct.
1) It is legal to smoke outdoors provided that you are not within 1000 feet of any kind of care facility (e.g. schools or child care) or in a non-smoking zone. Clearly it's illegal to smoke in an operating vehicle (not to mention, a Bad Idea).
2) It is legal to carry up to a full ounce of cannabis (though why I'd be caring that much, I have no clue), and to possess up to 8 ounces at home.
3) It is legal to give cannabis to another MMJ patient without expectation or promise of compensation.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could either correct me where I'm wrong, or let me know that I am right. Thanks!
