Tincture Questions

1) When straining the final product with a garlic press, do I put the leftover bud in a cheesecloth first or directly into the press?

2) How should the alcohol look like during heating if it's at the perfect temperature? Should it have small bubbles emerging at a slow pace? I don't have a candy thermometer so I can't measure the temperature.

3) Is a toaster oven fine for baking the weed or is it better to use a regular oven? I believe my toaster oven heats up the back more than the front so I'm doubtful it'll be efficient.
