ok heres the stupid question:wtf:
can i use normal household LED spotlights to grow cannabis?
i mean if i use white LED and add few red and blue spectrum ones as well...
thing is that im working in a shop where we have millions of bulbs and i would get them very cheap..or i should stick with my old CFL?

This would really depend on the LED type for the white ones, as most white diodes are simply blues with added green/amber phosphors. If they are not, then no problem, just make sure they have blue and red output worthwhile. No 660 red, no go.
Better off going with directed blue/red from the get-go.
if you got cfl's use them and also use LED's with the cfl's they must be of good quality super or ultra bright 100-200 led multiple spectrum would make a differance to your grow....i make my own led grow lights only use the best led's i can get... i under rate the resisters just to get that extra wattage anthink over 150 led's will defo help more is better..... my CFL's for veg now i use them althrough the grow with the led'sQuote:

i heard bad things about the ufo not great for growing which is why i opted to build my own that way i no for sure what rateing the leds are and that they were super brights unless you can afford the more expensive bigger grow light pannels build your own with super brights the better or brighter your leds the less you will need even tho more is of course better i would say even 100 super bright leds would be better than a ufo if you calculate the resister value correct ;-)Quote:
