Cooking With Coconut oil / Making "Holiday Treats"

I cooked up some coco butter and weed yesterday. Unfortunately it appears I added way too much oil, I wanted ity covered and floating in the oil like when I use Everclear. I started cooking again, adding several grams and using a crock pot. I now have "wet weed" and no oil to speak of, unless I squeeze it out. Can anyone tell me what the consistency should be? I have more of a paste, much more plant material than oil, at least that is the way it looks.
Also is it better to cook it longer as long as you use the crock pot on medium?
