Pot Vending Machine?

So I saw an ad recently in HT that advertised a "prescription vending machine" for use in the US. OVERWHELMING FLOOD of thoughts at first......

#1) COOOLLLL!!!!!


#2) WTF?!?!?!? Like Redbox that's in Walmart?



#3) BAAAAAAAAADDDDD choice of names for your service/product. Really? Prescription Vending Machine? Come on now. I don't make very much money each year, but I think even I could do better than that!(Maybe SAT-SafeAccessTerminal?, or simply SPAM?-SecurePrescriptionAccessMachin e.....then again maybe not that last one. Well, recognizable....in a distribution(i.e. filling scripts) marketing setting any publicity is good publicity right? Maybe THAT's what they were thinking.? Bad, bad move imho.

4) What a unique opportunity for the compassionate grower to work hard to care for his patients, supply safe, high quality, meds, set his own price(can you say price war? It's what everything is about. The consumer always wants the best quality product for the best value. Always.(Unless they are self-centered, narcissitsic, arse....oooopps. another thread). I can't get into all the wholesome possibilities of this as I only have a desktop, not a super-computer. Just smoke a nice Sativa dominant hybrid, close you're eyes, and think how many people would have access to inexpensive meds.

5) We may very well be headed into a much more sensible future.

6) NOT NECESARILLY IN THIS ORDER!!!! Security? subquestion, subtopic, side business?


From what I gathered from the full-page ad, they say they will:

1) Obtain all licenses and permits.
2) Verify and make sure you are within state and local law.
3) Set up security, build-out the collective, etc
4) A-Z, a turnkey setup.

What is YOUR opinion?

This will never work. Memphis has bar-coded IDs and those are easily faked.


Sorry, technology will necessarily be vulnerable. Even if it takes the heat death of the Universe (recently shown to be potentially not possible,) there's still the CHANCE that AES256 could be broken.

And there's a BIG possibility that sometime in the future someone will see a way to make AES256 from the past a simple language algorithm.

What we think of as advanced now will be 5 year old play in about 15-20 years.

Might as well get used to it.

In My Humble Opinion. I'm just now starting to learn some of them too.

what if they had fingerprint scanners as the security? I think that would be pretty legit. The down side is someone out there has your fingerprint.

i wouldn't mind driving down the street to a walmart and see a "PVM".

Biometrics have been fooled before as well.

The Gummi Bear trick still works on most laptop fingerprint readers.

They say that they have a fingerprint scan as part of the system and each vend. You load a pre-paid card at which time your recommendation is verified to be up to date. You then take your card and go to a PVM where you use your card and give a fingerprint scan to verify ID.

okay then eyeball scanners :jointsmile:

I'm looking at the add in high times right now and they actually have a website for thes PVM's its prescriptionvendingmachines*net (replace * with . ) I think I would just rather get it from an actual person though
