Self and...?

Time to renew with the registry, and it appears they've change the options since I last registered:
Self
Care-giver
MMC
Self and Care-giver
Self and MMC

Does what I select here have any legal implications, and if so are these options referenced somewhere in the legislation?

My situation is that I grow for myself, but make occasional purchases at an MMC (clones, seeds, etc.). Does this mean I have to select Self and MMC?

And if I select Self and MMC, does that mean I have to share my plant limit with the MMC? :confused:

I'm pretty sure what you select doesn't matter.

self and mmc would leave your options open and tell them you are growing or plan to... for good or bad. not sure what good could come out of them having that info.

There is some gray area when it comes to the "self and" portions. The CDPHE website doesn't have any explanation, nor does the DoR.

You are not required to designate an MMC as your primary center simply to shop there. Most still offer the same benefits they did when they were a primary caregiver.

Our interpretation is that you do not share your plant count with an MMC, but rather this provision protects against crop loss on either side. A20, which deals with how plant counts are divided, doesn't regulate MMC's.

We also offer specific packages for growers that designate us, including free clones, seeds and everyday discounts on both.

Releaf, so this is some sort of discount package talored to growing products? Interesting, haven't heard of a center doing that. I assume in that case you require that the grower be registered as Self and MMC, with you guys as the MMC...

Right, we do programs for hash, edibles, growing and buds. We don't carry any equipment or nutes, but we do have a good selection of clones and Centennial seeds. Our website (link below) has details on each package, just click on the members tab.

We don't have any genetics from either of those, but if you're looking for something specific we can work with you.

Thats an interesting grower's membership, Releaf. I might think about it. Although, to really get benefit out of that I would need to get into caregiving in order to have more than 6 plants really.

Ace & Head have some very desirable genetics that I haven't seen around CO yet, and I'm not able to do any mail ordering at the moment. Some day!

It almost gives you motion sickness trying work through the nebulous and serpentine corridors of our current rules and regulations. If you want to grow, you have a personal limit of 6 plants, which is nothing close to a sufficient amount to do any involved breeding and strain exploration. So you're still dependent on outside sources for new varieties. But apparently its now illegal to sell clones and seeds (I don't know, just heard this)? So as a personal grower you're basically forced to be involved in international trafficking (mail-order!) on a regular basis, because your grow room isn't big enough to preserve strains, and you can't get things locally!

Now you could become a care-giver to up your plant limit and open more possibilities in the grow room, but the trend in legislation this year seems to be to decrease the rights and number of individual care-givers, while tailoring things to the larger MMC's. Other care-givers can correct me if I'm wrong here, but it seems you need to expect to lose money this way with the current regulations, and at best break even?

Sorry for the rant, just trying to understand it all.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that is true. A caregiver can't have another caregiver, but I haven't seen anything in regards to a primary center.

@quetzal: You can't sell for more than cost, but you get to determine the cost. This is a HUGE misconception that many caregivers have... you can only "break even." Not at all. You can charge whatever you want for your own labor, factor in the space you're growing in vs rent/mortgage payment, etc.

Ah, I did not think about that little technicality. I will have to look into this. Have your attorneys spoken to you on this issue or have you heard anything concrete?
