Seedling already flowering!
I'm a first time grower, and am asking this before I hurt my eyes googling for an answer - forgive my laziness.
I've got a 2 inch seedling, about 7 weeks old (my lame setup caused my plants to get off to a slow start), which is already flowering. I got it from a friend who I believe had them under 24 hour light before he donated it to me, and I've had it under 24 hours too, except for about 1.5 days when it only got natural light while my house was in chaos.
Could that short window of darkness have triggered flowering so quickly?
Tis a female, by the looks, no?
What can I do? Will it abort flowering if I keep it under 24 hour light or what?
Thanks for any help! I have others too, not the end of the world if she comes too quickly, he he.
Does this happen spontaneously sometimes, even under long light days?
Thanks!

7 weeks is not seedling anymore and flowering in that time is just normal. Nothing wrong with it. I had some plants started flowering under 18/6 at their 5th weeks. They can start flowering even with 24h.
I had a plant indoor very small, and another outdoor in summer. I just let them go bud. And my friend had many of them in one pot like yours. Middle of summer, very long days, hot and very humid. It happens.
Yes she is a female. Going back to 24h will not help in your case, if she already started she'll not give up. Sure i don't have experiments on that maybe some others know better. But i suggest just go to bud. Go and have some nice midget plant :). She will grow double or more during the flowering period. Yo ucan also keep vegging for the others, when they show their sex the ngo to flower all together. She'll be fine.
Here are two of my small ladies.

Thanks, guess I'll get my .0002 grams and be happy with it!

It's an AutoFlower strain.
Keep the light cycle long and she should keep growing, and budding.
That being said, I've never done an autoflower, but most of them seem to wind up around a foot or foot/half tall before they are done.
Try googling "AutoFlower" Lots of results that should feed you some info on what to expect.

The short fat leaves look like it's got some ruderelis characteristics which my Ak47 autoflowering lowryders have. I use 20/4 lighting.
If I'm not mistaken, don't all or most autoflowers have a ruderelis mix to make them do what they do?

Rainhaze: I think, any "autoflower" will have a predominately ruderalis as in the "autoflower" trait......
Identified Strains: (assuming landrace)
Afghan
Indica
Sativa
Ruderalis
Scientifically (and according to the law) there is only one; Cannabis Sativa, but we all know that is a bunch of bull puckey.
Now, you can have any combo of the above, but will get many different phenotypes of each cross and usually one particular trait will be dominate above all from the "master strains" in each individual plant. (It is about time science takes into account the evolution of the species into multiple species.)

Hey 'Wonder, I need to correct you abt this.
According to binomial nomenclature, each individual has a two-part name; the first part is called GENUS (plural genera) and the second part is called a specfic epithet or SPECIES. This system is equivalent to surnames and first names in the naming of people.
Science recognizes there are three species of the genus cannabis. They are; sativa, indica and ruderalis. (Can't tell you why the law does not know this, but plant biologist's do.)
"Afghan" is known to be cannabis indica, btw.

Ok, well glad science has finally adapted to the full groups of species. Thanks for point it out too, I do not like to spread incorrect information.
The Afghan is indica in some circles and Afghan in others. I think that is more schemantics....and agree it just looks like a different Indica. My information is old as I, and the modern world is evolving, unlike I.
As far as I am concerned, there are Cannabis indica, Cannabis sativa, and Cannabis ruderalis.
OM - Is there a way to identify or further stratify each individual species?

I gotta agree the leaves look autoflowery, I have seen those same leaves on alot of auto flowers, including the tips spliting like that lol. is this something in the geno types of auto flowerin or in ruderals in gerneral? very strange that the leaves are all like that.
