Anyone that carries cash is always a target. Dispensaries probably need to do like they do in Cali and have armed security guard on the premises.
Or, if they were creative, have a counter, and no one comes behind. Under the counter on a swivel, a 12 gauge double-barrel, loaded with 00 buckshot, and the stock cut to a pistol grip that would cover the whole counter. Anyone pulls a gun, act like your complying and let 'er rip!!! Then pull your back up automatic pistol and finish off who ever is still left wanting to fight. :S2:Quote:

How true, and there used to be honor amongst the pot culture. Rip off artists were quickly identified, were usually taken care of outside of LEO, and not necessarily violently, and things went on pretty much non-violent. It started getting nasty in my opinion in the 80s onward. Crack, blaming drugs for the spread of HIV with no needle exchange, on and on.Quote:

I agree, I liked the armed guards in Cali, feel safe and they will even watch you to the car. Kinda surprised that people here don't have security. At my favorite place in Sunland the guard had a belt that made batman envious...LOLQuote:

Posted policies regarding cell phone use (not allowed past lobby) and a prohibition regarding any discussion of any unauthorized use or other illegal activities while on the premises. All staff are employees, no volunteers are used (provides legal safety and, as there have been volunteer burglary issues at other co-ops in the past, seems to be a good idea).
Individually, steps like these might not seem like a big deal safety-wise. Collectively, however, it can help keep patients and staff safe.
Its just a sad sign of the times. As the economy continues to deteriorate crime will increase. Its probably a good idea for all dispensary owners to get there concealed weapons permits and start packing.
I luckily have never had to pull it for self preservation or defense. I was taught only draw your gun when you intend to use it :gunfighter2: by a concealed weapons permit teacher long ago. He looked a lot like this smilie:Quote:
